- A summary of creation is given in this verse (SB 5.17.22-23). From Sankarsana, Maha-Visnu expands, and from Maha-Visnu, Garbhodakasayi Visnu expands

- Freed from all sinful reactions are those who concentrate their minds with great attention upon My expansion of energy the goddess of fortune; Lord Brahma; Narada Muni; Lord Siva; Prahlada; My incarnations like Matsya, Kurma and Varaha

- God can expand Himself as God unlimitedly, still He remains the same. There is another nice example. Just like you take one candle and you lit up another candle, you lit up another candle, and millions of candle, but this candle remains the same powerful
- God can expand Himself in any number of forms. We cannot do that. That is the symptom of God. Akrti, prakrti. Prakrti is His nature, supreme nature. As soon as He likes anything to do, He'll do it. There is no impediment
- God expanded Himself as the living entities for enjoyment, reciprocal, not that God's own enjoyment. When there is question of enjoyment, all the parties who participate in a particular type of enjoyment, they enjoy

- If in a kalpa a suitable living entity is not available to take charge of Brahma's post, the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself personally expands and becomes Lord Brahma
- In the beginning of the creation, the Lord expanded Himself in the form of the purusa incarnation, accompanied by all the ingredients of material creation
- In the Padma Purana it is said that in the spiritual world the Lord personally expands in all directions and is worshiped as Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha
- In the Vamana Purana it is said that the same Visnu expands Himself as Brahma and Siva to direct the different qualities

- Just as heat and light emanate from fire, these two energies - the physical elements and the living entities - emanate from the Supreme Lord. Therefore the Lord says, aham vai sarva-bhutani: "I expand the physical and spiritual categories"
- Just as the sun is a localized planet with the sunshine expanding unlimitedly from that source, so the Absolute Truth is the Supreme Personality of Godhead with His effulgence of energy, Brahman, expanding unlimitedly

- Lord Krsna is the original Personality of Godhead from whom the three creative incarnations, namely the purusa-avataras - Karanarnavasayi Visnu, Garbhodakasayi Visnu and Ksirodakasayi Visnu - expand

- Sankaracarya's commentary on the forty-second (that the Personality of Godhead can expand Himself variously) aphorism and his commentary on the forty-fourth (that all the expansions of Visnu are different identities) aphorism are contradictory
- Sankarsana is also Visnu, but from Him all other Visnus expand. This is confirmed in the Brahma-samhita 5.46
