Just like if a man does not use sex, does that mean he has become impotent? If he likes he can have, thousand times sex life, but he has voluntarily avoided it.

Bob: Does a devotee lose some of his individuality in that...

Prabhupāda: No, he has got full individuality, but he sacrifices individuality for pleasing Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa says, "You surrender unto Me." So he voluntarily surrenders. Not that he has lost his individuality. He keeps his individuality fully. But because Kṛṣṇa desires that he should surrender, he never minds. He's individual. Just like Arjuna, in the beginning he was declining to fight on account of his individuality. But when he accepted Kṛṣṇa as his spiritual master, he became śiṣya. Then whatever He ordered, "Yes." That doesn't mean he lost his individuality. He voluntarily accepted, "Whatever Kṛṣṇa says, I shall do it." Just as all my disciples, they have not lost their individuality, but they have surrendered their individuality. That is required. Just like if a man does not use sex, does that mean he has become impotent? If he likes he can have, thousand times sex life, but he has voluntarily avoided it.

No, you are calling them siddhas. Therefore I am telling you. Then impotents are siddhas.

Morning Walk -- March 27, 1974, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: ...still asiddha... So do you mean to say by avoiding sex life one becomes siddha?

Dr. Patel: That is what they do, but that is what...

Prabhupāda: That is your standard?

Dr. Patel: ...as far as sex is concerned, they are siddhas.

Prabhupāda: Then impotents are all siddhas. (laughter) All the impotent persons, they're all siddhas.

Dr. Patel: That is, in a way, they are.

Prabhupāda: That's all right.

Dr. Patel: Niḥspṛha-cetanaṁ jagat...

Guest (1): No, those have controlled their sex intercourse are...

Prabhupāda: No. Siddhas means in spite of agitation, he's not agitated. That is siddha. That is siddha.

Dr. Patel: But in spite of agitation of their wives, they are not agitated.

Prabhupāda: It is simply forceful negation.

Dr. Patel: But in spite of their wives' agitation, they are not agitated.

Prabhupāda: No, no, that... No, you are calling them siddhas. Therefore I am telling you. Then impotents are siddhas.

Dr. Patel: Then what should we call them?

Prabhupāda: Eh? No, they are little advanced. That's all. You can say that.

Although all the living entities are part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa, their constitution of impotence are different.

Morning Walk -- April 16, 1974, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Viṣṇu-tattva. They are viṣṇu-tattva. They are the spirit soul, they are varieties. Mamaivāṁśa. Just like aṁśa. Suppose if you break one brick, some fragments come out. All the fragments are not of the same size. There are different size. Similarly, although all the living entities are part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa, their constitution of impotence are different.

That's all. And then they become impotent and go to the doctor, "Give me sex medicine."

Morning Walk -- May 30, 1974, Rome:

Prabhupāda: So everyone's aim is that we shall remain within this material world and happy. Therefore gṛha-vratānām.

Satsvarūpa: If we can get enough to eat and sex, we will be happy.

Prabhupāda: That's all. And then they become impotent and go to the doctor, "Give me sex medicine." You see? Punaḥ punaś carvita-carvaṇānām (SB 7.5.30). The same thing. Not at home sex, but "Let us go to the prostitute, go to the naked dance." They have no other ideas. Punaḥ punaś carvita-carvaṇānām (SB 7.5.30). These class of men cannot take to Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
