- A materialistic man asked me, "Why are you living in Vrndavana? Why have you selected such a dirty place to live after retiring?" Such a person cannot understand that the earthly Vrndavana-dhama is always a representation of the original Vrndavana-dhama
- Activities exhibited by Krsna Himself at Bhauma Vrndavana, the Vrndavana-dhama existing on this planet, are not different from His activities on the planet Goloka Vrndavana. This is proper realization of Vrndavana anywhere
- Actually you can see that, that Vrndavana-dhama, that place is a small spot of land, say about eighty-four miles area, but any person, and however atheistic he may be, and however nonsense he may be, if he goes to that place, he'll feel Krsna's presence
- After being trained to serve the Lord in various capacities in that prakata-lila, the devotee is finally promoted to sanatana-dhama, the supreme abode in the spiritual world
- After taking on such a body (of hog or a monkey in Vrndavana-dhama), the offender is liberated in the next life
- All the planets in the spiritual kingdom are self-illuminated like the sun in the material sky. The kingdom of God is everywhere, but the spiritual sky and the planets thereof are called param dhama, or superior abodes. BG 1972 purports
- All these (the sakhis, nitya-sakhis, prana-sakhis, priya-sakhis and parama-prestha-sakhis) fair-complexioned associates of Srimati Radharani, the Queen of Vrndavana-dhama, are expert artists in evoking erotic sentiments in Krsna
- Although God is situated in His dhama paramam, His energies are distributed everywhere. Nor is He different from His energies, inasmuch as the sunshine and the sun are nondifferent
- Anyone living in Navadvipa-dhama, knowing Krsna and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to be the same personality, lives in Vrajabhumi, Mathura-Vrndavana
- As long as we do not give up this propensity of lording it over material nature, there is no possibility of returning to the kingdom of the Supreme, the sanatana-dhama. BG 1972 Introduction
- At present, the place known as Vrndavana, in the district of Mathura, continues its position as a transcendental place, and certainly anyone who goes there becomes transcendentally purified. Navadvipa-dhama is also intimately connected with Vrajabhumi
B
- Because we are all qualitatively one - the sanatana-dhama, or sky, the sanatana SP and the sanatana living entities - the whole purpose of BG is to revive our sanatana occupation, which is the eternal occupation of the living entity. BG 1972 Introduction
- Bharadvaja: He is one of the seven great rsis and was present at the time of the birth ceremony of Arjuna. The powerful rsi sometimes undertook severe penances on the shore of the Ganges, and his asrama is still celebrated at Prayagadhama
- Brahmananda Bharati: Brahmananda Bharati went to see Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu at Jagannatha-dhama. At that time he used to wear only a deerskin to cover himself, and Sri Caitanya indirectly indicated that He did not like this deerskin covering
- By knowing this (the position of the Lord and how to approach His dhama) he (Maharaja Pariksit) could leave aside everything material, even his own body, without any difficulty of attachment
- By the grace of the Lord His dhamas and He Himself can all be present simultaneously, without losing their original importance. Only when one fully develops in affection and love of Godhead can one see those dhamas in their original appearance

- Herein (SB 1.11.12) of course we find a different description of the city of Dvaraka. It is understood that the whole dhama, or residential quarter, was surrounded by such gardens and parks with reservoirs of water where lotuses grew
- His (Brahma's) abode is called tri-dhama-paramam. There are three divisions of the universe - the upper planetary system, the middle planetary system and the lower planetary system - but his abode is above even Siddhaloka
I
- If one is empowered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead to do something, the core of his heart becomes a dhama, and thus he becomes so extraordinarily powerful that not only his enemies but also people in general are astonished to observe his activities
- If one takes shelter of a dhama, worship of the Lord becomes very easy, and resultant spiritual advancement quickly takes place. In fact, in India one may still go to Vrndavana and similar places to achieve the results of spiritual activities quickly
- In Nabadwip Dhama there is a railroad station called Samudragarh, and it is said that sometimes the ocean was there. So, on the Pacific Ocean, if you can establish New Nabadwip, that will be a great achievement
- In the abode of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, there is no influence of material energy (dhamna svena sada nirasta-kuhakam). Any place where the SPofG is present by His name, form, qualities or paraphernalia immediately becomes a dhama
- In the Bhagavad-gita (10.12) also Krsna is addressed by Arjuna as param brahma param dhama pavitram - the supreme pure. There are many other instances exhibiting Krsna's supreme purity
- In the Bhagavad-gita there are many references to the Vaikunthalokas, and they are mentioned there as mad-dhama, or the kingdom of the Lord
- In the Bhagavad-gita, mad-dhama (My abode) is mentioned several times, according to the version of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna there exists the unlimited spiritual sky, where the planets are called Vaikunthas, or the abode of God

- It is because those planets (the Vaikuntha planets and the Goloka Vrndavana planet) are self-illuminating that all effulgence has become possible, and whatever there is that is dazzling is due to the reflection of that sva-dhama
K
- Knowing the transcendental position of the Lord and the transcendental method by which one can approach that transcendental dhama, the King (Pariksit) was confident about his ultimate destination
- Krsna is the supreme proprietor of all dhamas, including Goloka-dhama, Vaikuntha-dhama and Devi-dhama. The paravyoma and Goloka-dhama are beyond Devi-dhama, this material world
- Krsna's abode in the transcendental kingdom is called Goloka Vrndavana. The Vrndavana in India is that same Vrndavana descended on this earth. When Krsna descends Himself by His own internal potency, His dhama, or abode, also descends
- Krsnaloka is also called Goloka Vrndavana. Beneath this Goloka are Hari-dhama, Mahesa-dhama, and Devi-dhama
L

- One should not discriminate between the dhamas on the earth and those in the spiritual sky, thinking those on earth to be material and the original abodes to be spiritual. All of them are spiritual
- Only for us, who cannot experience anything beyond matter in our present conditioned state, do the dhamas and the Lord Himself, in His arca form, appear before us resembling matter to give us the facility to see spirit with material eyes
- Only when one fully develops in affection and love of Godhead can one see those dhamas in their original appearance
P
- Param & the param dhama mentioned in several places in the Bhagavad-gita are one & the same thing. One who goes to the param dhama does not return to the material world. This freedom is not possible even by reaching the topmost loka of the material world
- Param brahma param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan. This is understanding. This is parampara understanding. If you want to understand Bhagavad-gita, if you want to understand Krsna, then you have to follow the footprints of the mahajanas
S
- Seeing all these aspects of the cosmic manifestation (all moving and nonmoving entities, outer space, etc., within Krsna's mouth), along with herself (mother Yasoda) and Vrndavana-dhama, she became doubtful and fearful of her son's nature - SB 10.8.37-39
- Since it is said that Lord Krsna never leaves Vrndavana-dhama, one may ask how He manages the affairs of the creation. This is answered in the Bhagavad-gita: The Lord pervades the entire material creation by His plenary part known as the Paramatma
- Since the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krsna are the shelter of all devotees, Sri Krsna is called param dhama. In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.12) it is stated, param brahma param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan. Everything is resting under the lotus feet of Krsna

T

- The above-mentioned dhamas (Dvaraka, Mathura and Gokula) are movable, by the omnipotent will of Lord Krsna
- The appearance of the form of Krsna anywhere, and specifically within the heart, is called dhama. Dhama refers not only to Krsna's form, but to His name, His form, His quality and His paraphernalia. Everything becomes manifest simultaneously
- The conditioned living entities who wish to enjoy and not serve are given a chance within Devi-dhama to seek liberation. Some of them enter Hari-dhama, some of them enter Mahesa-dhama, and some of them remain within Devi-dhama
- The description of Dvaraka-dhama is the ideal of human civilization
- The dhamas and the Lord Himself, in His arca form, appear before us resembling matter to give us the facility to see spirit with material eyes. In the beginning this may be difficult for a neophyte to understand

- The every living entity is sanatana. And Krsna is sanatana. And there is place, sanatana. So our business is how to transfer ourself in that sanatana-dhama
- The impersonalists who want to merge into the existence of the Transcendence are placed within Mahesa-dhama. Those who want to remain within the planetary systems of the material universes do so on various planets
- The innumerable planets in Hari-dhama are predominated by different formal expansions of the Lord, and all of them have different names
- The Lord's sva-dhama does not require any sunlight or moonlight or electricity for illumination. That dhama, or place, is supreme, and whoever goes there never comes back to this material world
- The material creation comes into being by the will of the Lord, and it is again annihilated by His will. But although the universes of the material energy are thus created and annihilated, the planets in Hari-dhama are ever existent
- The pastimes of the Lord there (in Vrndavana-dhama) are also spiritual. None are material
- The planets within the glowing effulgence are called Hari-dhama. On these planets the predominating Deity is Hari, and the predominated deities are the liberated souls
- The prakrta-sahajiyas proclaim themselves vraja-vasis or dhama-vasis, but they are mainly engaged in sense gratification. Thus they become more and more implicated in the materialistic way of life

- The Vaikuntha planets and the Goloka Vrndavana planet are all self-illuminating, and the rays scattered by those sva-dhama of the Lord constitute the existence of the brahmajyoti
- The Vedic literature directs us not to be captivated by the dark regions (tamah) but to try to reach the shining regions of the Absolute - yogi-dhama
- The Vrndavana-dhama on this earth is a replica of that same abode. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.20), in the spiritual sky there is another, eternal nature, transcendental to manifested and unmanifested matter
- The word dhama is significant. Dhama refers to the place where the Supreme Personality of Godhead resides. In the beginning of Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 1.1.1) it is said, dhamna svena sada nirasta-kuhakam satyam param dhimahi
- There are many devotees who vow never to leave Vrndavana and Mathura. This is undoubtedly a good vow, but if one leaves Vrndavana, Mathura or Navadvipa-dhama for the service of the Lord, he is not disconnected from the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- There are many places of pilgrimage in India, and especially prominent are Badari-narayana, Dvaraka, Ramesvara and Jagannatha puri. These sacred places are called the four dhamas. Dhama refers to a place where one can immediately contact the Supreme Lord

- There is no parallel to His childhood pastimes as exhibited at Vrajabhumi, which are the prototypes of His eternal affairs in the original Krsnaloka described as the cintamani-dhama in the Brahma-samhita
- These (four dhamas, or kingdoms of God) are Badarikasrama, Ramesvara, Jagannatha Puri and Dvaraka. Faithful Hindus still visit all these holy places for perfection of spiritual realization, following in the footsteps of devotees like Uddhava
- These facts (Krsna-Vrajendra-nandana, the son of Nanda Maharaja - is aradhya, worshipable. Then, tad-dhama vrndavanam: His dhama, or abode - Vrndavana - is equally worshipable) pertain to a higher standard of understanding
- These two sons of Ramamohana were known as Bada Prabhu and Chota Prabhu, and they inaugurated the circumambulation of Navadvipa-dhama
- These Vaikuntha planets are known as sanatana-dhama, and they are eternal. They are never annihilated, not even by the annihilation of this material world
- They (the impersonalists) have no qualifications for becoming associates of the Lord either in the Vaikuntha planets or in the supreme planet, Goloka Vrndavana, described in the Bhagavad-gita as mad-dhama & here in this verse as the sva-dhama of the Lord
- This is the verdict of the acaryas. Vrajendra-nandana, Hari, Krsna, He is worshipable, everyone knows. But His dhama, Vrndavana, is also as good as Krsna. It is also worshipable
- This material world is garbage. And still, we live so comfortably. Now just imagine what is His dhama. It is the garbage tank, still so nice. And just think what is His real place, Goloka Vrndavana

- Those who want to go outside the material energy can enter Hari-dhama and go either to the various planets there or directly to Krsnaloka
V
- Vrndavana-dhama is a transcendental place because of Krsna's walking on this land frequently. The inhabitants of Vrndavana were fortunate to see these marks (of sankha-cakra-gada-padma - conchshell, disc, club and lotus) here and there
- Vrndavana-dhama is also a spiritual abode, and there the days and nights, the trees, flowers and water, and everything else are spiritual. There is not even a trace of material contamination
- Vrndavana-dhama is the innermost abode within the quadrangular realm of Svetadvipa, which lies outside of the boundary of Gokula Vrndavana
W

- We speak of Vrndavana-dhama, Dvaraka-dhama and Mathura-dhama because in these places the name, fame, qualities and paraphernalia of the Supreme Godhead are always present
- When Sri Krsna appears on the face of the earth, He can also make His dhamas appear, without changing their original structure
