- A person who has lived in Dvaraka for six months, for one month, or even for one fortnight, there is awaiting elevation to the Vaikuntha-lokas and all the profits of sarupya-mukti (the privilege of having the same four-handed bodily features as Narayana)
- A pure devotee does not accept any kind of liberation - salokya, sarsti, samipya, sarupya or ekatva - even though they are offered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- A pure devotee of Lord Krsna rejects even these types of liberation (such as salokya, samipya, sarupya and sarsti); he aspires only to serve Krsna birth after birth
- According to the opinion of authorities, Kamsa attained sarupya-mukti after death; that is to say, he attained the same form as Narayana
- After the expiry of the elephant's life (as Gajendra), he (Indradyumna) was promoted to Vaikunthaloka to become a personal associate of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana, in a body exactly like that of the Lord. This is called sarupya-mukti
- Aghasura attained sarupya-mukti, being promoted to the Vaikuntha planets to live with the same four-armed bodily features as Visnu. The explanation of how this is so may be summarized as follows - in SB 10.12.33
- All the Visnu forms had four arms, with conchshell and other articles, but these characteristics are also possessed by those who have attained sarupya-mukti in Vaikuntha and who consequently have forms exactly like the form of the Lord
- Another form of liberation is sarupya-mukti, by which one receives features exactly like God's. Another is salokya-mukti, by which one can live in the same planet with God
B
- By devotional service, pure devotees who incessantly think of the SPG receive bodies similar to His. This is known as sarupya-mukti. Although Sisupala, Dantavakra and other kings thought of Krsna as an enemy, they also achieved the same result
- By the direction of the Lord, because He is the ultimate benefactor, the living entity is at once awarded the necessary spiritual body befitting his association with the Lord in the manner of sarupya, salokya, sarsti, and samipya
D
- Devotees who qualify themselves for liberation by DS are offered 4 kinds of liberation: salokya (status equal to that of the Lord), samipya (constant association with the Lord), sarsti (opulence equal to that of the Lord) and sarupya (features like Lord)
- Devotees, Vaisnavas, attain the liberations of sarupya, salokya, sarsti and samipya, whereas the Mayavadis are supposed to attain the liberation known as sayujya
- Different persons achieve different types of mukti-sayujya, salokya, sarupya, samipya and sarsti - according to their own intense desire, which is called bhava
E
- Entering the body of Krsna is called sayujya-mukti, but Aghasura, like Dantavakra and others, received sarupya-mukti. This has been broadly described by Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura with references from the Vaisnava-tosani of Srila Jiva Gosvami
- Especially when Krsna appears as an avatara, anyone who thinks of Krsna in His different incarnations, and especially in His original form as Krsna, attains salvation. There are many instances of this, & among them is Aghasura, who attained sarupya-mukti
H
- Having achieved the liberation of sarupya and thus having the same bodily features as the Lord, Uddhava looked almost like Krsna
- He (Krsna) showed such great mercy that even Aghasura, the most sinful miscreant, was elevated to being one of His associates and achieving sarupya-mukti, which is actually impossible for materially contaminated persons to attain - SB 10.12.38
- He delivers the fallen living entities by offering them the four kinds of liberation - salokya, samipya, sarsti and sarupya
- He received the salvation of sarupya-mukti, in which he achieved the same bodily features as the Lord, being dressed in yellow garments and possessing four hands
I
- If there is a chance to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead, a pure devotee sometimes accepts the salokya, sarupya, samipya or sarsti forms of liberation, but never sayujya
- In sarupya liberation the bodily features of the devotee are exactly like those of the Supreme Person but for two or three symptoms found exclusively on the transcendental body of the Lord
- In two or three places the Bhagavatam has confirmed that Aghasura attained sarupya-mukti. One may then argue, How is it that he mixed with the Brahman effulgence?
K
- Kapiladeva said: "My devotees do not accept salokya, sarsti, sarupya, samipya or oneness with Me - even if I offer these liberations - in preference to serving Me"
- Krsna proved that anyone killed by Him attains liberation, whether sayujya, sarupya, samipya or whatever
- Krsna was very much pleased with the tailor and gave him the benediction of sarupya-mukti, which means that after leaving his body he would be liberated and would attain a four-handed body exactly like that of Narayana in the Vaikuntha planets
N
- Narada-pancaratra states, "I simply pray that You grant me the favor of keeping me under Your lotus feet. I do not wish any kind of liberation such as salokya, to reside on Your planet, or sarupya, to have the same bodily features as You"
- Nothing is impossible for Him. Therefore, that He enabled even a living being like Aghasura to attain the salvation of sarupya-mukti was not at all wonderful for Krsna
O
- Of the five types of liberation, the first four (salokya, samipya, sarupya and sarsti) are not so undesirable because they can be avenues of service to the Lord
- One can have any of these five forms of liberation (sayujya-mukti, sarupya-mukti, salokya-mukti, sarsti-mukti and samipya-mukti), but of the five the sayujya-mukti, merging with the impersonal aspect, is not accepted by Vaisnava devotees
- One may doubt that such a demon (Aghasura), full of mischievous activities, could attain the liberation of sarupya or sayujya, and one may be astonished about this
- One who always thinks of Krsna must attain vimukti, special salvation as the Lord's personal associate, not necessarily in Vrndavana, but at least in Vaikuntha. This is called sarupya-mukti
- Out of these five muktis (sayujya, sarupya, salokya, samipya and sarsti), which can be achieved by any person engaged in devotional service to the Lord, the one which is known as sayujya is generally demanded by Mayavadi philosophers
P
- Paundraka's meditation was concentrated on the Visnu form, but because he thought himself Visnu, it was offensive. By his being killed by Krsna, that offense was mitigated. Thus he was given sarupya liberation, and he attained the same form as the Lord
- Paundraka, Narakasura, Salva and Kamsa were all inimical toward the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but because all these kings constantly thought of Him, they achieved the same liberation - sarupya-mukti
- Prahlada Maharaja would be elevated to sarupya liberation, and in that sense he resembled Lord Visnu. Therefore Prahlada was to be killed by Hiranyakasipu
S
- Sarupya (equal bodily feature), salokya (equal facility to live on the same planet with the Lord), sarsti (equal possession of opulence like the Lord), and samipya (equal association with the Lord)
- Sarupya means attaining a four-handed form exactly like that of the Lord, sarsti means attaining opulences like those of the Supreme Lord, and sayujya means merging into the Brahman effulgence of the Lord. These are the five types of liberation
- Sayujya-mukti, however, is not very secure, whereas sarupya-mukti, salokya-mukti, sarsti-mukti and samipya-mukti are most certain
- Sisupala and Dantavakra were formerly Jaya and Vijaya, the doorkeepers of Vaikuntha. Merging into the body of Krsna was not their final destination. For some time they remained merged, and later they received the liberations of sarupya and salokya
- Srivatsa, for example, the hair on the chest of the Lord, particularly distinguishes Him (God) from His devotees - who have achieved sarupya liberation
T
- The answer is that as Jaya and Vijaya, after three births, again attained sarupya-mukti and association with the Lord, Aghasura received a similar liberation
- The jnana-bhakta, the devotee who follows the path of jnana, also attains the same destination - sarupya-mukti
- The liberation of the bhakta, therefore, which is called not just mukti but vimukti, surpasses the five other kinds of liberation-sayujya, sarupya, salokya, sarsti and samipya
- The liberation of the bhakta, which is called not just mukti but vimukti, surpasses the five other kinds of liberation - sayujya, sarupya, salokya, sarsti and samipya
- The liberation of the devotee and the liberation of the enemy are not the same. The enemy generally gets the liberation of sayujya, and sometimes he gets sarupya liberation
- The Lord is described as mukti-pati, which means "one under whose lotus feet there are all kinds of mukti." There are five kinds of mukti - sayujya, sarupya, salokya, samipya and sarsti
- The Lord killed many inimical nondevotees, but they all received sarupya; in other words, they returned to their original spiritual bodies. One who does not know the Lord's position says that God is unkind to him but merciful to others
- The serpent first entered the body of Krsna personally and mixed with the Brahman effulgence. This merging is called sayujya-mukti. But from later verses (of SB 10.12) we find that Aghasura attained sarupya-mukti
- The word svarupa refers to sarupya-mukti - going back home, back to Godhead, and remaining the Lord's eternal associate, having regained a spiritual body exactly resembling that of the Lord, with four hands, holding the sankha, cakra, gada and padma
- The word vimuktidat is also significant. There are different types of liberation, such as sayujya, salokya, sarupya, sarsti and samipya (CC Madhya 6.266), but vimukti means - special mukti
- There (in the Priti-sandarbha) is a comparative study of liberation as salokya, samipya and sarupya. Samipya is better than salokya. Devotional service is considered to be liberation with greater facilities, and there is a discussion of how to obtain it
- There are five kinds of liberation: salokya, samipya, sarupya, sarsti and sayujya
- There are some inhabitants who have attained the liberation of sarupya, or possessing bodily features like those of the Personality of Godhead
- These liberations are sarsti (achieving opulences equal to those of the Lord), sarupya (having a form the same as the Lord's), samipya (living as a personal associate of the Lord) and salokya (living on a Vaikuntha planet)
- They (the residents of Vaikunthaloka) have the same bodily features as Narayana because they have attained the liberation of sarupya, but they nevertheless act as servants
- Those who are associated with the Lord in the Vaikuntha planets achieve all the bodily features of the Lord and appear to be the same as Lord Visnu. Such liberation is called sarupya-mukti, which is one of the five kinds of liberation
- Those who are liberated from the bondage of conditioned life are elevated to the spiritual world, where they achieve five kinds of liberation - sayujya, salokya, sarupya, sarsti and samipya
W
- When a person is liberated in the sarupya form of liberation, having a spiritual form exactly like Visnu, it is not possible for him to relish the relationship of Krsna's personal associates in their exchanges of mellows
- When Aghasura, by that sporting association, as maintained in the spiritual world, was purified of all contamination, he attained sarupya-mukti and vimukti by the grace of Krsna. For Krsna this was not at all wonderful
- When one associates with a pure devotee, he becomes so elevated that he does not aspire even for sarsti, sarupya, samipya or salokya, because he feels that such liberation is a kind of sense gratification
