- After hearing the arguments and talks of Caitanya, all the Mayavadi sannyasis who were present became pacified and replied with sweet words: Dear sir, what You have spoken is all true. A person who attains love of Godhead is certainly very fortunate
- All the Mayavadi sannyasis replied: undoubtedly You (Caitanya) are very fortunate to have attained this stage of love of Godhead. But what is the fault in Vedanta? It is the duty of a sannyasi to read and understand Vedanta. Why do You not study it
- All the sannyasis replied: We are very much obliged to see and hear You (Caitanya). Therefore we shall be very glad to hear patiently and accept whatever You say

- Candrasekhara replied, "There is a Muslim mendicant." Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu immediately said, "Please bring him here." Candrasekhara then spoke to Sanatana Gosvami, who was still sitting beside the door

- Haridasa offered his obeisances to the Lord and replied, "My body is all right, but my mind and intelligence are not well"
- Haridasa Thakura replied, "We are falsely proud of our capabilities. Actually we cannot understand Your deep intentions"
- Hearing this reply, the Lord said in ecstasy, "Go on talking! Go on talking!" Thus Srivasa described the transcendental mellows of the pastimes of Sri Vrndavana
- His mother replied, "My dear son, I will give You whatever You ask." Then the Lord said, "My dear mother, please do not eat grains on the Ekadasi day"

- In ecstasy the Lord asked Srivasa Thakura to deliver His flute, but Srivasa Thakura replied, "Your flute has been stolen away by the gopis"
- In reply (Lord Caitanya), Ramananda Raya said - I do not think I have anything to say beyond this, but there is a topic known as prema-vilasa-vivarta, which I may explain to You. I do not know whether it will bring You happiness or not

- Jagadananda replied, "My Lord, You go take rest. I shall take prasadam after I finish making some arrangements"

- Prakasananda replied, "My dear Lord (Caitanya), You are the Supreme Lord, and although You consider Yourself the Lord's servant, You are nonetheless worshipable"
- Prakasananda replied, "You (Caitanya) are much greater than I am; therefore all my spiritual achievements have been lost because I have blasphemed You"
- Prakasananda replied, "You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna Himself. Nonetheless, You are considering Yourself His eternal servant"
- Prakasananda Sarasvati replied, "Formerly I committed many offenses against You by blaspheming You, but now the effects of my offenses are counteracted by my touching Your lotus feet"
- Previously I spoke ill of You (Caitanya) many times, Prakasananda Sarasvati replied. Now in order to free myself from the results of my offense, I fall down at Your feet

- Ramananda Raya replied (to Caitanya): Now You have personally come here to deliver me. Please don't try to deceive me, I beg You. It is not good for You
- Ramananda Raya replied (to Caitanya): You have actually advented Yourself to take this point of view. Although You incarnate mainly to understand Your own self, You are at the same time distributing love of Krsna to the world
- Ramananda Raya replied (to Lord): I request that You not try to hide Yourself. I understand that You have accepted the complexion and mode of thinking of Srimati Radharani and that You are trying to understand Yourself from the viewpoint of Radharani
- Ramananda Raya replied after hearing the last statement (CC Madhya 8.68) of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu: prema-bhakti - sarva-sadhya-sara. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu actually accepted this verse (jnane prayasam) as the basic principle of perfection
- Ramananda Raya was feeling a little agitation, - How is that? I am a grhastha, not even born in high brahmana family. I am engaged in politics, I am governor, and He (Lord Caitanya) is a sannyasi. How is that He is asking question and I am replying?

- Sanatana Gosvami replied, "The Supreme Personality of Godhead has saved me from the sinful life of material existence. By His desire, my last piece of material attraction is now gone"
- Sanatana replied, "I do not know who Krsna is. As far as I am concerned, I have been released from prison only by Your mercy"
- Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya replies (to Caitanya) - Therefore, my Lord, I requested that You see him - Ramananda Raya
- Sivananda Sena replied, "He has kept the name that appeared to me from within." Then he invited Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu for lunch
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu asked Raghupati Upadhyaya which form was the best of Lord Krsna's millions of forms, and he immediately replied that the supreme form was the Syamasundara form. In that form, Krsna stands curved in three places and holds His flute
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu asked Raghupati Upadhyaya, "According to your decision, who is the foremost being?" Raghupati Upadhyaya replied, "Lord Syamasundara is the supreme form"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu asked, "Of the three ages of Krsna known as childhood, boyhood and fresh youth, which do you consider best?" Raghupati Upadhyaya replied, "Fresh youth is the best age"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu further inquired from Haridasa, "Can you ascertain what your disease is?" Haridasa Thakura replied, "My disease is that I cannot complete my rounds"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu inquired from Sanatana about news of his well-being. Sanatana replied, "Everything is auspicious because I have seen Your lotus feet"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said to Puri Gosvami and Brahmananda Bharati, "Why have the two of you come so far?" Puri Gosvami replied, "Just to see Your dancing"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "Please tell me of the varieties of egoistic pride manifested in Vrndavana." Svarupa Damodara replied, "The pride of the gopis is like a river flowing with hundreds of tributaries"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu then asked them, "Where have you seen Krsna directly?" The people replied, "You are a sannyasi, a renunciant; therefore You are a moving Narayana (jangama-narayana)"
- Sri Ramananda Raya at once replied (to Lord Caitanya): "A person who is sincere in his occupational duty will gradually develop a sense of God consciousness"
- Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura gives the following summary of the conversations between Ramananda Raya and Sri Caitanya. Ramananda Raya replied to five questions of Caitanya, and these questions and their replies are recorded in verses 57-67 - of CC Madhya 8

- The acarya replied, "When the activities of the four castes and the four asramas are dedicated to Krsna, they constitute the best means whereby one can attain the highest goal of life"
- The brahmana replied, "His Holiness Srila Madhavendra Puri came to the city of Mathura while he was on tour"
- The brahmana replied, "There is not a tinge of fault in that verse. Rather, it has the good qualities of similes and alliteration"

- The brahmana replied, - Yes, I am crying because when I take up this book, I see a picture of Krsna driving Arjuna's chariot. Sri Krsna is so kind that He has accepted the position of a servant to His devotee. Therefore when I see this picture, I weep
- The brahmana replied, I am simply trying to carry out his order, and therefore I am opening and closing the pages." Caitanya Mahaprabhu then said, - I see that you are crying sometimes. Why is this
- The dead son immediately replied (to the question of Caitanya that why he was leaving the house of Srivasa) - I am Your eternal servant, a dependent living being. I must act only according to Your desire

- The doorkeeper grasped His hand and replied very hastily, 'Come, see Your beloved!' May that Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu rise within my heart and thus make me mad also

- The Lord concluded, "Now, therefore, please reduce the fixed number of times you chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra." Haridasa Thakura replied, "Kindly hear my real plea"
- The Lord said, "My dear uncle, I have come to your home just to ask you some questions." "Yes," the Kazi replied, "You are welcome. Just tell me what is in Your mind"
- The messenger replied, "He was fearlessly, incessantly chanting the maha-mantra - Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare"
- The people replied, "Krsna has again manifested Himself on the waters of Kaliya Lake. He dances on the hoods of the serpent Kaliya, and the jewels on those hoods are blazing"
- The saintly Muslim replied, "All that You have said is true. This has certainly been written in the Koran, but our scholars can neither understand nor accept it"
- The Tattvavadi acarya replied, "What You have said is certainly factual. It is the conclusion of all the revealed scriptures of the Vaisnavas"
- These respectable gentlemen replied, "At night in Kaliya Lake a fisherman lights a torch in his boat and catches many fish"
- Thinking in this way, Govinda kept silent. He did not reply to the Lord's inquiry

- We shall be very much pleased to hear You (Caitanya), all the sannyasis replied. You appear just like Narayana, and Your speeches are so nice that we are taking great pleasure in them
- What is the highest standard of education? Lord Caitanya began His inquiry, and Ramananda Raya immediately replied that the highest standard of education is knowledge of the science of Krsna
- When Caitanya inquired from Haridasa Thakura how he was to benefit living entities other than humans, Haridasa Thakura replied that the HK maha-mantra is so potent that if it is chanted loudly, everyone will benefit, including the lower species of life
- When Caitanya said that He was an uneducated fool and could not follow the expositions, Bhattacarya replied: If You do not follow what I am saying, why don't You inquire? Why do You simply sit silently? It appears that You do have something to say
- When Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was talking with Ramananda Raya, Caitanya Mahaprabhu inquired, "What is the greatest reputation?" Ramananda Raya replied that a person who is reputed as a great devotee has the greatest reputation
- When the Lord inquired, "By which path have you come?" Sanatana Gosvami replied, "I have come on the path along the beach"
