SB Introduction: After visiting the temple of Ksira-cora-gopinatha of Remuna at Balasore in Orissa, the Lord proceeded towards Puri and on the way visited the temple of Saksi-gopala, who appeared as a witness in the matter of two brahmana devotees' family quarrel. The Lord heard the story of Saksi-gopala with great pleasure because He wanted to impress upon the atheists that the worshipable Deities in the temples approved by the great acaryas are not idols, as alleged by men with a poor fund of knowledge. The Deity in the temple is the arca incarnation of the Personality of Godhead, and thus the Deity is identical with the Lord in all respects.

SB Canto 4

When there is a scarcity of grain, the government should follow the methods prescribed in the śāstra and approved by the ācāryas

SB 4.18.8, Purport: When there is a scarcity of grain, the government should follow the methods prescribed in the sastra and approved by the acaryas; thus there will be a sufficient production of grains, and food scarcity and famine can be checked. Bhagavad-gita recommends that we perform yajna, sacrifices. By the performance of yajna, sufficient clouds gather in the sky, and when there are sufficient clouds, there is also sufficient rainfall. In this way agricultural matters are taken care of. When there is sufficient grain production, the general populace eats the grains, and animals like cows, goats and other domestic animals eat the grasses and grains also. According to this arrangement, human beings should perform the sacrifices recommended in the sastras, and if they do so there will no longer be food scarcity. In Kali-yuga, the only sacrifice recommended is sankirtana-yajna.

Lecture on SB 5.5.30 -- Vrndavana, November 17, 1976: So our preaching is like that. Sri krsna caitanya prabhu nityananda. Yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasahv. This process is adopted not by rascals. Su-medhasah, those who have got good brain, they will take it. So very simple thing, and Caitanya Mahaprabhu is approved by the acaryas, by big, big scholars. So you have no fear of falling down. So take Caitanya Mahaprabhu's first mercy, and then preach Krsna consciousness. You'll be successful. It is not possible nowadays to imitate Rsabhadeva. It was imitated by one king in the South India, and he is the originator, propounder of the Jainism. They say. But you cannot imitate Rsabhadeva. That is not possible in this age. Better try to follow the instruction of Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Krsna. Your life will be perfect.

Evening Address to Pandas and Scholars -- Jagannatha Puri, January 26, 1977:: Krsna says personally in the Bhagavad-gita, mam hi partha vyapasritya ye 'pi syuh papa-yonayah..., te 'pi yanti param gatim [Bg. 9.32]. So there is ample sastra-pramana, approved by the acaryas. Caitanya Mahaprabhu converted many Pathans into Vaisnava, changed their name. So things are going according to sastra and mahajana. Why you should not receive them as Vaisnava and give them proper reception? That is my request. I hope... There are many learned scholars and devotees present here. They should endeavor to remove this, I mean to say, restriction or short-sightedness, and let us combinedly work for Jagannatha to preach the bhakti cult for the benefit of the whole world.

As you cannot manufacture religion, you cannot manufacture sastras. Approved by the acaryas. Acaryopasanam. Therefore Krsna says also that you should know from the acarya. Everyone. They are preaching Bhagavad-gita with the purpose of killing Krsna. Everyone. The politicians, the scholars, the rascals, and everyone. The main purpose is how to kill Krsna. In Bombay I have got a very big friend, you know him. I do not wish to disclose his name. He has set aside ten lakhs of rupees for preaching Gita. But he wants Gita without Krsna. Rama without Sita. Ravana's policy. Take away Sita. Rama will remain alone. So take away Gita and cut Krsna.

Letter to Nandarani -- Seattle 18 October, 1968: I am so glad to learn that you appreciate my mission in the United States as without any rival. Actually this is a fact, because I am presenting nothing manufactured by me. I am presenting the genuine thing as it was given by Lord Krishna Himself, or Lord Caitanya Himself, approved by the Great Acaryas, so the activities which we have adopted, Krishna Consciousness, it is authorized and in the disciplic succession from Krishna directly. I am trying to live in your country permanently, and I have already applied for my permanent visa at Montreal, and they have called me for interview on the 25th Oct. 1968, so I am going there on the 23rd instant, and I will see the Consulate General there on the 25th. So if I get my permanent visa, certainly I shall try to live in your country and spread this unique message of Krishna Consciousness with your good assistance.
