- According to smarta-brahmanas, a person not born in a brahmana family could not be elevated to the position of a brahmana. Sanatana Gosvami, however, says that anyone can be elevated to the position of a brahmana by the process of initiation

- We can understand that liberation is not the final word in perfection. There must be activities in liberation. Sanatana clearly says, "You (Lord Caitanya) have saved me from the material existence. Now, after liberation, what is my duty?"
- When Sanatana Gosvami approached Caitanya Mahaprabhu, he said, - My dear Lord, somehow or other You have dragged me to Your lotus feet. I am now asking You what my actual position is. Why am I forced to suffer the threefold miseries of material life
