- A Hindu may change his faith to become a Muslim, or a Muslim may change his faith to become a Hindu, or a Christian and so on. But the change of religious faith does not effect the eternal occupation of rendering service. BG 1972 Introduction
- A person who works very hard, no matter in what occupation, and who offers the result of the work to the service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is called a karma-yogi

- The supreme occupation (dharma) for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self
- The system of varnasrama-dharma is known also as sanatana-dharma, or the eternal occupation
- The vaisyas and sudras were unimportant elements in society, and they are not mentioned herein (SB 1.9.41). Due to the change of social activities in the modern age, the importance of men has also changed in terms of occupational positions
- The varnas are, so to speak, classifications of different occupations, and asrama-dharma is gradual progress on the path of self-realization. Both are interrelated, and one is dependent on the other
- The Vedas prescribe two different types of occupation for the human being. One is called the pravrtti-marga, or the path of sense enjoyment, and the other is called the nivrtti-marga, or the path of renunciation

- This regulative principle (always think of Krsna and never forget Him) is applicable to all varnas and asramas, the castes and occupations of life
- This transcendental devotional service of the Lord is so wonderful that the occupation keeps the deserving devotee always rapt in psychological activities, without deviation from the absolute touch

- We are earning money by some occupation. That's all. Then what is the purpose of this money? Now, if you are dharmic, dharmaikantasya, if you are actually religious, then your money is not meant for sense gratification
- We are preaching all over the world the principle of one God, one community, one scripture, and one occupation. This principle has been accepted practically all over the world
- We do not recommend that "You give up your occupation, you become a sannyasi, give up your wife and children." No. That is not our movement
- We have lived in bird life, in beast life, and so on, but now, in this life, we should be peaceful, calm, and quiet, and should simply inquire about the Absolute Truth (jivasya tattva-jijnasa, athato brahma jijnasa). That should be one's occupation

- When he (the devotee) is freed from unwanted occupations, his faith becomes steadily fixed, and he develops a transcendental taste for devotional service, then attachment, then ecstasies, and in the last stage there is pure love of Godhead
- When he suffers reverses in his occupation, he tries again and again to improve himself, but when he is baffled in all attempts and is ruined, he accepts money from others because of excessive greed
- When man forgets the real purpose of life, the mission of human form of life, then it is called dharmasya glanih, the disturbance of the occupation of human being
- When one finds no fulfillment in his present occupation one is said to be in a state of lamentation, in this condition one becomes questioning, thoughtful, tearful, regretful and heavy-breathed. His bodily color changes, and his mouth becomes dry
- When one is unsuccessful in achieving his desired goal of life, when one finds no fulfillment in his present occupation, when one finds himself in reversed conditions and when one feels guilt - at such a time one is said to be in state of lamentation
- When the Supersoul is situated in the heart of the conditioned soul, the requisite mind is manifested in the conditioned soul, and he becomes conscious of his occupation as one is conscious of his duty after waking up from slumber
- When we speak of sanatana-dharma, don't think that sanatana-dharma is meant for the Hindus. Sanatana means eternal, and dharma means occupation
- While so traversing the earth, he simply performed duties to please the Supreme Lord Hari. His occupation was pure and independent
- Why India is fallen down? Because the so-called rascals, they are claiming that "I am brahmana." But what is our occupation, sir? "Oh, I am serving as a coolie." Is that brahmana's business?

- You are Christian today. You can become, I mean to say, Hindu or Muslim tomorrow. So faith can be changed, but dharma, that natural sequence, natural occupation or natural intimately connection just like the fire, heat & light. This cannot be changed
- You have got some bodily occupation, some mental occupation, some intellectual occupation, but you have to give up all these things. Simply surrender unto Me (Krsna). This is your real occupation
