- A devotee should be satisfied to eat whatever is sent as prasada by the Supreme Lord. A devotee remains pure because he does not take to sinful activities such as gambling, intoxication, meat-eating and illicit sex
- A disciple promises to refraim from the four pillars of sinful life: no illicit sex-life, no intoxication, no gambling, and no meat-eating. In addition, one must chant at least 16 rounds of japa daily and in this way progress in Krsna Consciousness

- First of all try to become sinless: no illicit sex life, no intoxication, no meat-eating, no gambling. Observe these four regulative principles and chant Hare Krsna mantra as far as possible, at least sixteen rounds
- First of all, whatever intoxication you have already got, just try to cure it. Don't increase it. The physical necessities means we have already got it. But it is meant for decreasing, not increasing

- Gold is a generator of falsity, intoxication, prostitution, enmity and violence. Under the guidance of a proper king, public leader, brahmana or sannyasi, the same gold can be utilized to reestablish the lost legs of the bull, the personality of religion

- I am sorry to inform you that your co-founder Hayagriva Prabhu is little disturbed. Sometimes before you told about him participating in intoxication. Then I did not take it seriously, but the same thing is again revived and I am little perturbed
- I don't accept any cheap student or cheap disciple. My first condition is that there is no illicit sex life, there is no intoxication, there is no gambling, and there is no meat-eating

- If we work so hard to make a man a devotee and then seeing the older members taking intoxication and doing all nonsense, they become lost to Krsna, that is the greatest sin
- If you associate with a really sadhu, if you execute really devotional service, these anarthas will be vanquished. That is the symptom. No more illicit sex. No more intoxication. No more gambling. No more meat-eating, fish-eating, egg-eating
- If you follow the prohibitive rules: no meat eating; no intoxication, no illicit sex life & no gambling & regularly chant 16 rounds of beads daily & try to understand this philosophy by reading our books, then surely you will make rapid advancement in KC
- If you follow the rules and regulation - no illicit sex, no meat-eating, no gambling, no intoxication up to the drinking of tea and smoking and chewing pan. So these are considered as the four pillars of sinful life

- This Hare Krsna is the bright side, and the other things, material activities and sinful activities, meat-eating, intoxication, gambling, illicit sex, the dark side. So it is your choice. If you remain the bright side, then your progress is certain
- This intoxicant (an intoxicating beverage made with a drug known as hataka - cannabis indica) endows the man with great sexual prowess, of which the women take advantage for enjoyment

- We actually see that even young boys and girls in the Krsna consciousness movement have given up their long practice of bad habits like illicit sex, meat-eating, intoxication and gambling
- We allow no meat-eating, no illicit sex, no gambling and no intoxication, and consequently the parents wonder how, if there are so many no's, one's life can be positive
- We are already intoxicated, and modern civilization aims at increasing our intoxication
