- Everyone can understand it (that we are spirit souls). It is very simple thing. But the modern education has made them so dull brain, they cannot understand, neither do they try to understand. That is the difficulty
- Everyone is working under some impure consciousness, just like nationalism: "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am Englishman," "I am German." This desire is polluted, because I am spirit soul, part and parcel of Krsna

- I am a human being. You accept that I have got soul. By what symptoms you accept that I have got soul?
- I am a spiritual soul, but I have been given the opportunity to utilize a certain type of material body. Because I wanted it, Krsna is so kind that He has given it to me
- I am combination of spirit and matter. As soon as I am spirit, I am away from this matter, this body becomes matter. "Dust thou art; dust thou beist." Yes. So those who are mahatma, they have to take shelter of the spiritual energy

- On the Battlefield of Kuruksetra, Arjuna said to Krsna, - Whatever You are saying is all right. I am not this body. I am a soul, and this is also true of everyone else. So when the body is annihilated, the soul will continue to exist

- The word yoga means "to connect." Brahma-siddhaye means "self-realization," and aham brahmasmi means "I am spirit soul." Actually, realizing oneself to be spirit is not sufficient. One has to progress further
- There is fighting, due to ajnana. So first of all we have to drive away this ajnana. Therefore Krsna is teaching Arjuna that "You are not this body. You are spirit soul." This is the first spiritual instruction by the authority to anyone
- There is no educational system to teach people that he's not this body; he is atma, spirit soul. That is the beginning of spiritual education
- There is spiritual division also, because we are combination of matter and spirit. I am the soul. I am living within this material body. This is actual position

- To realize aham brahmasmi is the first step of transcendental life. After one's in full knowledge that he's not this body but spiritual soul, he can effectually engage in the Lord's transcendental service. It isn't that one develops any other identity

- We are identifying ourself with this body: "I am Indian," "I am Hindu," "I am Christian," "I am brahmin," "I am black," "I am white." These are all designations. This is not my real identity. My real identity is aham brahmasmi, "I am spirit soul."
- We are living entities, we are living soul. Birth and death takes place of this body. The body takes birth and the body is vanquished
- We are not the body; we are spiritual beings trapped in the body. Our real interest lies in understanding this simple fact
- We are spirit soul (aham brahmasmi). This is realization of knowledge, and when we come to this point of knowledge, we become happy
- We are spirit soul, and there was never any need of this material body. But because we wanted to enjoy the material body, we have this body, through the material energy, under the direction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- We are trapped souls in a state of forgetfulness of Krishna
- We are within the shirt. This is the first knowledge, that - I am not this body. Why I shall be puffed up with this body? This is superfluous. I am spirit soul. I am part and parcel of Krsna; therefore my only business is with Krsna
- We become hungry, we become thirsty. We become overwhelmed with regret, soka moha, illusion, then birth, death, so many currents. We are being carried away. I am spirit soul. I am put into the material ocean
- We have come here within this material world to enjoy material resources. That is called pravrtti. And when we come to the platform of understanding that "I am not this body; I am soul," then my occupational duty changes
- We have to purify. That purification means one must know that "I am not this body. I am spirit soul"
- We, or I, the spirit soul, being carried by the subtle body, and the nature is giving me another gross body. In this way we are transmigrating from one body to another. This is called evolution

- When one actually is self-realized, that "I am not American, not Indian, not Hindu, not Muslim, not man, not woman. I am spirit soul. Aham brahmasmi," at that time, he does not lament
- When one comes to understand that "I'm spirit soul," aham brahma, "I'm not this matter," so immediately he becomes jolly, prasannatma. And what is the sign of jolliness? Na socati na kanksati. He has no more any hankering, no more any lamentation

- When one thoroughly understands that he is not the material body but a spiritual soul, he is even humbler than a man of the lower castes, for he is spiritually elevated
- When our body is destroyed, that does not mean we are dead. You are spirit soul, I am spirit soul, every one of us, but we have no death. That is another illusion
- When the spirit soul is active, sometimes the Mayavadi philosophers, they think, "Now I've realized that I am not this body, I am not matter, I am spirit soul, so now I have become Narayana. I have become the Supreme." But no, that is mistake
- When we understand that I am not this body, I am spirit soul, aham brahmasmi. This is called purification
- When you come to this knowledge perfectly that, "I not this body; I am soul," that is called brahma-bhuta stage, aham brahmasmi, Brahman realization or spiritual realization
- Where is this training is given that "We are spirit soul. This body is temporary, and the spirit soul business is this, so that spirit soul may be purified, no more he accepts this material body"? Where is that education?
