- A guru is necessary. Like Arjuna, everyone is perplexed about his best course of action. Nobody can decide by himself

- Arjuna is representing the perplexed position of the materialistic person. So under the circumstances, a guru is required to give us real direction

- Don't be proud, "Because I am man, I don't require protection." Here it is said, Krsna said, er, Arjuna said, purusottamena so 'ham rahitah: "Now I have no protection." Arjuna was so great hero. Still, he required protection
- Draupadi said, "If Asvatthama dies, then Dronacarya's wife, our mother guru, will be very much unhappy. So release him and let him go away." Thus Arjuna freed Asvatthama
- Duryodhana criticized Bhismadeva, alleging that he was reluctant to kill Arjuna because of paternal affection
- Duryodhana received him (Arjuna) as his brother - My dear brother, you have come? What do you want? You want the kingdom without fighting? Therefore you have come? I can give you. I can stop this fighting if you want without fighting
- Duryodhana said to Dronacarya: Here in this army (of the Kurus) are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna: great fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada
- Duryodhana thought that, "I shall take Krsna's soldiers," and Arjuna thought, "I shall take Krsna only, even He does not fight." So this is the determination of mahatmas, that they want simply Krsna's friendship
- Duryodhana wanted to point out that he (Dronacarya) should not be lenient in battle against the Pandavas, who were also Dronacarya's affectionate students. Arjuna, especially, was his most affectionate and brilliant student. BG 1972 purports

- Kasyapa begot many children, both demigods & demons, by those wives. From his first wife, Aditi, all the twelve Adityas were born; one of them is Vamana, the incarnation of Godhead. This great sage, Kasyapa, was also present at the time of Arjuna's birth
- King Pariksit was very eager to learn how his grandfather kidnapped and married his grandmother
- Krsna explains: They (Krsna, Arjuna and all other living entities) were individuals in the past, they are now situated in individuality, and in the future they will all continue to maintain their individual forms
- Krsna has accepted the arca-murti incarnation to be handled by me. Otherwise just like Arjuna saw the virata-murti, the universal form of Krsna. He was tremble; he was afraid. He requested, Please become again just like my friend. This is very fearful

- One should not fail to keep his promise to give in charity. These discrepancies are sometimes causes of despondency, and thus failing, a person becomes subjected to criticism, which might also be the cause of Arjuna's plight
- One should not guess or speculate about an incarnation of God or the Personality of Godhead. One has to learn from the bona fide person or from the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, as Arjuna did, by the mercy of Krsna
- One who acts in devotional service, renouncing the fruits of his actions, and whose doubts have been destroyed by transcendental knowledge, is situated factually in the self. Thus he is not bound by the reactions of work, O conqueror of riches

- We can only see the gross material body, and when this gross material body ends, we say that everything is finished. In order to understand these things, we have to approach a guru, just as Arjuna approached Sri Krsna
