Conversations and Morning Walks

1968 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation -- October 27, 1968, Montreal, With First Devotees Going to London On Evening of Their Departure:

Prabhupāda: Why three taxis?

Mālatī: Two taxis. There are so many of us and so much baggage.

Prabhupāda: Ah, yes. So for me, I shall be ready to start as soon as we hear from you. Yes. And tomorrow I shall expect mail. I don't think I am going to Vancouver because from Upendra's letter it is not very encouraging, and I don't think Mr. Renogay(?) will, on his personal account, call me and pay me. I don't think so. So what is your next program here?

Janārdana: Then the next program here... Well, the busy season will begin. So I'll go to McGill and Sir George Williams Universities and some churches also, and I'll try to get speaking engagements. (break)

Prabhupāda: ...building?

1969 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation -- April 27, 1969, Boston:

Prabhupāda: So what does she say?

Jadurāṇī: She said the flowers weren't out yet, but that was months ago. We have some mail for you. One letter is from her with up-to-date news.

Prabhupāda: Oh. Some devotees are coming. And in Honolulu, two boys, they are also doing. In Hawaii there are two branches now. Yes. One at Honolulu, one at Kauai. Kauai. That island's name is Oahu. Hawaii has five islands' stretch, and this is called Oahu. Oahu island, one side, Honolulu, and one side... This island means hill. And the valley of the hills are utilized for residential purposes. So all sides, Pacific Ocean. And there is ample production of sugar cane and pineapple. I was chewing sugar cane as it is. Yes. And there is so many coconut trees, palm trees, and mango. In mango season they throw away mangos.

1972 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation -- April 20, 1972, Tokyo:

Prabhupāda: Oh. By June. All right. We shall talk further. What is this? So Los Angeles is... Everything is all right?

Karandhara: Yes Prabhupāda. Those are all... All the different envelopes are from the different departments, Spiritual Sky, Mail Order, Iskcon Media.

Prabhupāda: So you keep it in this envelope. Then I shall see.

Śyāmasundara: They have purchased $8,000 worth of equipment for recording your voice.

Prabhupāda: Oh. That will be very nice. So I can give lectures daily? No. What is the arrangement?

Karandhara: Yes. As soon as you come, Śrīla Prabhupāda, we're going to shoot the first TV show.

Introduction Speech By Dr. Kapoor and Conversation -- October 15, 1972, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Oh, that's all right. So by the grace of Kṛṣṇa, Caitanya Mahāprabhu, whichever book we are publishing, that is being accepted. And people inquire when they go for saṅkīrtana in big, big cities, they inquire, "Have you got this book? Have you got this book?" Yes. And we are receiving mail orders, at least twenty mail orders. And this time I was surprised. They have taken a godown in Los Angeles. This is bigger than the Rādhā-Dāmodara temple, so big. Only for stocking books and incense. We are manufacturing incense. That I suggested. Sometimes I went to Ramakrishna mission and I saw they are selling incense. So I suggested that "Why don't you..." So I gave them idea how to manufacture. Because I have...

Dr. Kapoor: You have the background.

1973 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation with David Wynne, Sculptor -- July 9, 1973, London:

Śyāmasundara: Yeah, "A Rival of Nelson." Just before, maybe two months ago, the boy who was in charge of Ratha-yātrā, Mahā-Viṣṇu, we were, he was in so much torment because where was the money going to come from to create such an extravaganza. He wanted to have the best festival ever made. And suddenly he got a letter in the mail: "Your aunt has died, has left you eight thousand pounds." (Prabhupāda laughs)

Prabhupāda: Just see.

Śyāmasundara: So with that money, he has spent everything for Kṛṣṇa, just to glorify Him in that way. He even printed the magazine, everything.

Prabhupāda: His aunt's money has been properly utilized.

Śyāmasundara: What arrangements do you want to make for making a model of Prabhupāda?

1974 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation -- August 12, 1975, Paris (with French translator):

Bhagavān: (to guest) You have read any books of ours?

Woman: (indistinct)

Devotee (1): Many people are very anxious for the French Bhagavad-gītā. We've already received many letters in the mail asking for copies of it.

Devotee (2): One advanced order for Bhagavad-gītā, eighty copies from a book shop.

Prabhupāda: Here?

Devotee (2): In Africa.

Prabhupāda: You can advertise in paper. You will get good orders.

Bhagavān: They have said that this Aurobindo copy, this is almost out of print now.

Devotee (1): There is no edition of Bhagavad-gītā like your edition ever in France. This is the first time.

1975 Conversations and Morning Walks

Morning Walk Through the BBT Warehouse -- February 10, 1975, Los Angeles:

Hṛdayānanda: Prabhupāda, do you want these?

Prabhupāda: You can take it, yes. Prasādam. (laughter) Vaiṣṇava's prasādam. Chaḍīyā vaiṣṇava sevā, niṣṭhā payeche keba. You are all Vaiṣṇavas. Vaiṣṇave jāti-buddhiḥ. Eh?

Rāmeśvara: This is the mail order room, where all the orders that people send in for books... They are processed here. They manage that here. And Svarūpa, he is the secretary for the Society. In all your books it says, "If you want more information write to the secretary." He answers all those letters.

Prabhupāda: How many letters you get?

Rāmeśvara: Svarūpa?

Svarūpa: Maybe twenty-five letters.

Hṛdayānanda: Every day.

Morning Walk Through the BBT Warehouse -- February 10, 1975, Los Angeles:

Hṛdayānanda: Every day.

Rāmeśvara: And also he is encouraging them to become Life Members, and sometimes through the mail they send their Life Membership fee. This is our Mail Order shipping room.

Prabhupāda: I was doing when I was Dr. Bose's manager. Any inquiry coming from outside, I must continue correspondence with him unless he becomes a customer.

Rāmeśvara: Unless he becomes a customer.

Prabhupāda: Yes. That I was doing.

Rāmeśvara: There's one more room, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Morning Walk Through the BBT Warehouse -- February 10, 1975, Los Angeles:

Prabhupāda: Yes. That I was doing.

Rāmeśvara: There's one more room, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Rāmeśvara: This is where they ship all the mail orders.

Prabhupāda: Weighing.

Hṛdayānanda: That's for postage.

Rāmeśvara: We have our own postage machine. We don't have to go to a post office.

Prabhupāda: Oh.

Rāmeśvara: It prints out stamps.

Prabhupāda: Even letters, packages?

Morning Walk Through the BBT Warehouse -- February 10, 1975, Los Angeles:

Rāmeśvara: Yes, anything. So it's very efficient.

Prabhupāda: What is this?

Rāmeśvara: Sometimes people order incense along with their books. Very rarely. The mail order business is now doing $100,000 worth of business every year and is always growing. It is almost doubled from last year.

Prabhupāda: Oh, you are printing these books?

Rāmeśvara: We're going to reprint them.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Rāmeśvara: 100,000 copies, with a color cover.

Prabhupāda: Nice. This, this, very nice.

Room Conversation with Carol Cameron -- May 9, 1975, Perth:

Prabhupāda: Oh.

Carol: They're pretty hard to get hold of. I wish there were more around.

Prabhupāda: Yes, that will benefit. That will benefit.

Amogha: They are available by mail from America.

Carol: I think a lot of people don't know it exists, that's the problem.

Prabhupāda: That record which was done by George Harrison?

Carol: Yes. It's very rare to find music like that here.

Prabhupāda: George Harrison has contributed many. He gave me first of all nineteen thousand dollars for printing Kṛṣṇa book. Now he has purchased one house in London, and we are using that. It is two hundred thousand pounds. Yes, he is a good boy, good soul.

Car ride from Durban to Johannesburg -- October 13, 1975, Durban:

Harikeśa: I think he wants to remind you of...

Prabhupāda: Yes. Because it is coming from Navayogendra it is not to be relied so much. (laughs)

Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: There should be mail there. There should be some more information, for sure. But then sometimes I think it's simply Kṛṣṇa's grace.

Prabhupāda: Yes, by Kṛṣṇa's grace...

Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: Here in South Africa is very, very conservative government, and we've been allowed to do practically everything. Simply Kṛṣṇa's mercy. Yogamāyā allows our saṅkīrtana activities to go on.

1976 Conversations and Morning Walks

Morning Walk -- March 13, 1976, Mayapur:

Rāmeśvara: (break) "...a standing order to begin with volume one of Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, then please enter standing order to begin with volume one for Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam." This is their standing order, the order they send us in the mail.

Prabhupāda: What is the...? (reading) "No work in all Indian literature is more quoted. Because none is better loved in the West than the Bhagavad-gītā. Translation of such work demands not only knowledge of Sanskrit but an inward sympathy with the theme and a verbal..." What is called?

Devotees: Artistry.

Prabhupāda: "Artistry. But the poem is a symphony in which God is seen in all things. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda is, of course, profoundly sympathetic to the theme. He brings to it a special interpretative insight. Here we have a powerful and persuasive presentation in the bhakti tradition of this dearly beloved poem. The Swami's introduction makes clear at once where he stands as a leading exponent of Kṛṣṇa consciousness." That is my actual...

Press Conference -- April 27, 1976, Auckland, New Zealand:

Prabhupāda: Here is the boy, he can...

Devotee: Yes, we've spoken with some of the government officials. I've spoken with or I've had contact with the cities where we have not personal contact but through the mail, and also some contact with the minister of immigrations.

Interviewer: How long do you intend to keep traveling and, and...

Prabhupāda: If I stayed four days in each center, it takes one year to travel all the centers.

Interviewer: Four days in each center takes you one year.

Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: Three days.

Prabhupāda: Yes. We have got 102 centers all over the world.

Morning Walk -- June 5, 1976, Los Angeles:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Did the professors write back?

Rāmeśvara: Dr. Judah got a copy of one such letter, and he mailed it to Jayādvaita, so I've seen it. Very, very blasphemous, poisonous, but it was written by a very educated person. I could tell by the style of writing that the person who wrote that letter was very literate.

Prabhupāda: He did not disclose his name?

Rāmeśvara: Yes, his name and address.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: That person gave his name and address, who wrote that letter?

Rāmeśvara: Yes, yes.

Prabhupāda: So we cannot bring it to the court?

Rāmeśvara: Perhaps. I'll see. But this is an example.

Prabhupāda: No, I know that.

Morning Walk -- June 5, 1976, Los Angeles:

Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: The other way, Śrīla Prabhupāda?

Svarūpa: Now that the Back to Godhead has become so very good in quality, when the people finish reading it they see our ad for membership and they write in for information on membership and they are becoming our members, which means that each month they pledge donations, and they are on our mailing list. They receive newsletters, we even send them prasāda in the mail. And now we've got 250 members each month donating to the Book Trust.... Altogether are donating four thousand dollars each month, and it is increasing.

Prabhupāda: So increase the number of Back to Godhead.

Svarūpa: Yes. As the quantity and quality increases in Back to Godhead, the membership program is increasing, and orders for the literature through Back to Godhead increases.

Morning Walk -- June 5, 1976, Los Angeles:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: It's our best means of advertising, that magazine.

Mahendra: Every day, the mail order department is delivering to the airport, or to the post office, a big stack of books to be mailed out.

Prabhupāda: So why not ask them to make a post office here, ISKCON post office?

Svarūpa: Each day fifty letters are coming. Some are inquiries, some are orders. (break) ...program Prabhupāda, we continue writing letters to these people, until they become devotees.

Prabhupāda: That's nice.

Svarūpa: And last year thirty became devotees. They wrote us letters saying that they have moved into a temple and that they are very happy now.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Svarūpa, he does all this writing; he's the secretary. He keeps correspondence with all of these people every month.

Morning Walk -- June 7, 1976, Los Angeles:

Rāmeśvara: They mail it out?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes, well it's a bunch of notes they mail out on a regular basis. It's really poisonous. Pradyumna has been investigating. He got a bunch of their notes photocopied. The one thing I've noticed about the people that are involved with this, two features I particularly have noticed. One of them is that they don't go out on saṅkīrtana. Everyone I've seen...

Prabhupāda: Then everything will be finished. Preaching will be finished. In this sahajiyā party, then preaching will be finished. Siddha-praṇālī.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: What does that mean, Śrīla Prabhupāda, siddha-praṇālī?

Prabhupāda: Siddha-praṇālī is nonsense. They have manufactured a siddha-praṇālī.

Rāmeśvara: (break) ...the initiation that you are given your siddhas, your eternal position.

Car Ride -- July 20, 1976, New York:

Ghanaśyāma: We were talking about the pictures, the paintings in the books. We were mentioning how professors liked the paintings and how sometimes they actually buy the books because of the nice paintings. Sometimes when we go back to see a professor or librarian a year later, we'll notice that they'll have a catalogue up on the bulletin board. Sometimes they'll take the cover of the jacket of the book and they'll put it on display. And now we're getting recognized when we go to some of the colleges. They say, "Oh, you're the man with the nice colorful books. We've seen your catalogue, we got one in the mail, we've seen your books, and they're very attractive books." And our men are getting known now that because we've been to most of the schools in America once, and they say "You're the men who don't leave until your books are in the library." Even if the school is closed, our men, now, they'll go to the professor's home and they'll get him out of bed to come to see the librarian or to write a notice or to call the librarian. So even if the school is closed, the books are still being placed, and when the students come the books are in the library. (break) (in car)

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Room Conversation -- July 31, 1976, New Mayapur (French farm):

Prabhupāda: Sometimes they are called churchmouse. Churchmouse. A mouse in the church, what he'll eat? He's in a householder's place, a mouse is there, he can eat something. But church, nobody's eating there. Simply dust, that's all. (laughter) Churchmouse. Any new mail?

Harikeśa: Stacks of it. Quite a lot.

Prabhupāda: Oh. Where from?

Harikeśa: Want to go over it now? Shall we go over everything now?

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Bhagavān: Jyotirmāyī is outside, and Yogeśvara. We can have them come in?

Prabhupāda: Just fix on the light.

Room Conversation -- August 3, 1976, New Mayapur (French farm):

Prabhupāda: Very nice.

Bhagavān: And one man, after the devotee was there, the next week he sent two thousand dollars in the mail.

Prabhupāda: Ācchā.

Bhagavān: And then he came to the Paris temple and he gave another thousand dollars. And then two weeks later he sent again two thousand dollars, and then he moved in with his whole family.

Prabhupāda: Ācchā. (laughs)

Bhagavān: They are here now. He had his own business and everything, very successful. His children are in the Gurukula and he is doing saṅkīrtana.

Room Conversation -- November 4, 1976, Vrndavana:

Akśayananda: They send regularly. We are sending. But many times the mail is stolen, magazines, Back to Godhead.

Prabhupāda: That is a fact.

Akśayananda: Yes, it is very difficult.

Prabhupāda: Because there are so many nice picture. I have seen. When I was printing my books in a Delhi press, so one peon was coming there to work part time as compositor. So his mailbag he will put somewhere in the press and he will being composing. And all other compositors, they'll check the mail bag and if something is attractive, they will take. I have seen it. Our magazine is so...

Akśayananda: It's so beautiful.

1977 Conversations and Morning Walks

Roof Conversation -- January 5, 1977, Bombay:

Mr. Gupta: Kashi Express. Kashi Express reaches in the morning just at one...

Dr. Patel: I had gone by Kashi Express. It reached... From here it starts in the evening, and there it reaches Allahabad in the evening.

Mr. Gupta: That is Allahabad Mail. That's Calcutta Mail. Kashi Express leaves at 6:45 in the morning with other and reaches at the same time next morning.

Prabhupāda: So we have to get the train from Dadar.

Mr. Gupta: Yes.

Prabhupāda: Dadar is nearer.

Dr. Patel: It must be stopping at Thana also. No?

Mr. Gupta: We had the option of going either on 10th night or 11th morning. But we preferred 11th morning for the same reason.

Roof Conversation -- January 5, 1977, Bombay:

Mr. Gupta: We had the option of going either on 10th night or 11th morning. But we preferred 11th morning for the same reason.

Prabhupāda: 10th night means?

Mr. Gupta: By Calcutta Mail, or there's a special leaving for Allahabad. There's a special train. We are running Kumbhamela specials.

Prabhupāda: This one.

Mr. Gupta: This one is a regular train. This is Varanasi Express.

Dr. Patel: A special must not have first-class. Has it?

Mr. Gupta: Special has first-class.

Dr. Patel: That special will be better than.

Mr. Gupta: No, it won't be because it leaves on 10th night and it will only go to Naini. It won't go to Allahabad.

Dr. Patel: Isn't it faster...

Roof Conversation -- January 5, 1977, Bombay:

Dr. Patel: With poor transport then. That transport was not so efficient as it is today, no? More trains and more...

Prabhupāda: No, the Bombay Mail was there, and I think this Kashi Express was not there.

Dr. Patel: Kashi Express is a new.

Prabhupāda: Not very new. That is also not very...

Mr. Gupta: About fifteen years old.

Prabhupāda: Fifteen years.

Dr. Patel: Kashi Express goes to Allahabad and comes back to Benares. I have gone by that train.

Room Conversation -- January 8, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Hare Kṛṣṇa. (Hindi)

Guest (5) (Indian man): I am going tomorrow to Kumbha. Tomorrow night.

Prabhupāda: Oh, by plane. Oh.

Guest (5): Train. Howrah Mail, Howrah Express, getting down at Prayāga. And I'll be there to 14th and 15th.

Prabhupāda: Oh. So you can go to our camp.

Guest (5): Camp. I am going with Mr. Munshi only. (Hindi) He's already there, and we are going to put up with them only.

Prabhupāda: That is far away. It takes, I understand, one and a half hours to come.

Guest (5): It is three miles away, in water, in the river.

Room Conversation -- January 8, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Oh. (pause) I think Mathura train also goes early in the morning. You have taken before?

Jagadīśa: Not from Bombay.

Prabhupāda: Two, three train goes, one Frontier Mail, one Deluxe Express and another-three trains for Delhi. It takes, altogether, from here to Delhi, nineteen hours. And Mathura, still two hours less. And from Mathura it is six miles. There are buses, ricksha.

Hari-śauri: There's a woman coming now to put on her neckbeads.

Discussion on Deprogrammers -- January 9, 1977, Bombay:

Rāmeśvara: We always answer their charge that "You are saying that all the people are being upset by us, but actually the proof is that we are getting so many letters every day, hundreds of letters, and all these letters, no complaints. Simply they want more information. They want to order all our books. So from our mail order we can see that these people are writing to us because they have been sold books on the street."

Prabhupāda: So these letters are important. You can publish these letters in book. Those who are ordering our books, they...

Rāmeśvara: Also, when we tell them, "Our magazine used to sell two hundred thousand copies a month, now it is selling five hundred thousand, seven hundred fifty thousand, some months one million copies. so that means the public is..."

Prabhupāda: Yes. Becoming more interested. So let us go on fighting with Kṛṣṇa consciousness. There is no disappointment. Yudhyasva mām anusmara (BG 8.7). We shall fight and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Then everything is all right. We cannot stop fighting.

Arrival of BBT Manager -- January 9, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: (Hindi) (break)

Rāmeśvara: I can show you this later. This is a copy of a newsletter that we have intercepted from the enemy camp. We have our newsletter, and they also have their newsletter. So we have gotten ourselves on their mailing list, so we can find out all their strategy.

Prabhupāda: Yes. When there is fight these things are studied. (Hindi) When there is fight there is no question of immoral or moral. "We must get victory," that's all. Kṛṣṇa did it. Kṛṣṇa asked...

Hari-śauri: According to this, they've made it legal, deprogramming. They're making it legal that they can hold a person by force until they break him mentally.

Jagadīśa: Rāmeśvara? Are there many of our devotees who've been deprogrammed, or are they mostly other groups?

Room Conversation -- January 10, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Typeset is Delhi good, but offset-Bombay.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: So what I've told them, Śrīla Prabhupāda, is they can get the composing done in Bengal, Calcutta, then send it to me, like I get the Hindi composing done in Vṛndāvana and mail it to Bombay for printing. So it is cheaper and good quality, plus we have the whole department set up. One boy, Pippalai, he just takes care of technical aspects. And we have a shipping department all set up now. Two boys work just on the shipping.

Prabhupāda: So supply department keep in one place.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes. And we have very good...

Prabhupāda: In other places it is...

Conversation on Train to Allahabad -- January 11, 1977, India:

Prabhupāda: Began with five thousand.

Rāmeśvara: And we said that people are writing us so many letters ordering our books by mail. So you say do not like us, but we say they love us.

Prabhupāda: What was his reply?

Rāmeśvara: On every point he was defeated. Then this Reverend from the Lutheran Church, he said that we have invented this Kṛṣṇa religion. He said that Kṛṣṇa is an ordinary man who is a sex symbol, having so many women, gopīs, wives, and that we are saying that He is God. And this is heresy, he told us, a concoction. So he was defeated in different ways also. And at the end he had to admit that "The only way to find out is if you buy their books, so everyone go buy their books and see for yourself."

Prabhupāda: No, even taking it that Kṛṣṇa is after sex, then if sex is bad, then why you are after sex? The whole world is going on after sex. How you can deny it?

Room Conversation -- January 21, 1977, Bhuvanesvara:

Prabhupāda: If there is response, good.

Rāmeśvara: We should experiment in different areas also in America.

Prabhupāda: America, I don't think so good.

Rāmeśvara: Although there is a way to develop mail order business. We found out that mail order businesses in America make millions of dollars.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Rāmeśvara: So it's possible.

Prabhupāda: Hm... That is worth.

Evening Conversation -- January 25, 1977, Puri:

Prabhupāda: Yes. This is training. Community means I learn from you; you learn from the principles. But if you don't like community, you do it yourself. But this is opportunity. You learn it. Sādhu-saṅga (CC Madhya 22.83). By association of... And we must be sādhus. If we are also dogs and hogs, what they will learn?

Gargamuni: Rāmeśvara told me that in ISKCON mail order there are many people outside who are following. They are offering their food, having kīrtanas.

Prabhupāda: Yes. No, you can accept a suitable situation according to your convenience. There is brahmacārī, gṛhastha, vānaprastha, sannyāsa. Four orders are there. Whichever is suitable for you, accept. But don't forget the problem and the aim of life. And we don't want men giving some quotation from a book just like these so-called scholars do. He has not gone through the book, but take some suitable passage and note, and then he advertises himself that he has studied so many book. "Bibliography." Is it not? So-called scholar?

Room Conversation -- February 2, 1977, Bhuvanesvara:

Yugadharma: Laguna Beach temple... Agnideva dāsa, he's doing very nicely, very first-class. Everything is going... Temple life now is very nice.

Prabhupāda: Everywhere there should be nicer because you are getting experience.

Satsvarūpa: I have the mail, Śrīla Prabhupāda, that Jayapatākā Mahārāja brought yesterday from Calcutta.

Prabhupāda: Oh. Yes. Some book?

Satsvarūpa: Yes. These books were sent by Patita Uddhāraṇa. He's staying at the... (break)

Prabhupāda: Devotees, they have dedicated life to this. (break) Where you can get such worshiper by paid man? They are after money. They are not after God. So it will be nice if they hand it over to us. We can take charge. (break) ...eternal propaganda.

Room Conversation about BTG the Moon -- February 18, 1977, Mayapura:

Prabhupāda: American brāhmaṇas. Go-brāhmaṇa. American milk, American brāhmaṇa.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Dhṛṣṭadyumna Mahārāja has organized the life membership program to send the Indian members milk sweets in the mail every week from the farm. Burfi, sandeśa.

Prabhupāda: They also like. And in America, the Indians are there, they are all educated. They're not low-class men.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: They read your books carefully.

Prabhupāda: This... There are some statements. Just like molten iron, a man can break for illicit sex. What is their objection?

Evening Darsana -- February 25, 1977, Mayapura:

Prabhupāda: Yes. That I proposed.

Satsvarūpa: Yes. I know you did, many times.

Prabhupāda: Individual standing orders. Unlimited field.

Satsvarūpa: You told the method too. You first call up... First send out mail to some respectable person. Then a week later call him on the phone and ask if we can visit him-has he received our mailer, and now can we visit him? Try that.

Prabhupāda: What do you think, this idea?

Tripurāri: Well, we tried it a little bit in the United States, but I think that the major difficulty was getting the people to pay. They would pay, perhaps promise to pay, but then they wouldn't follow through. We were afraid they would cancel the order.

Room Conversation -- February 27, 1977, Mayapura:

Harikeśa: It could not reach me at the airplane, so, I think, when Bhagavān comes he will bring the book.

Prabhupāda: You have advised.

Harikeśa: I tried. I tried. I don't know. Otherwise it will come by mail. We printed ten thousand Hungarian books.

Prabhupāda: What is that book?

Harikeśa: It's Perfection of Yoga and Beyond Birth and Death in the same cover, because...

Prabhupāda: Oh. Like the German edition.

Harikeśa: Hungarian.

Room Conversation -- April 5, 1977, Bombay:

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Indian Overseas?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: No, State Bank.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: I was reading, going through my mail. State Bank had written to me earlier. They are also applying for an extension counter, and we want a full bank, because they were seeing me before, their manager here.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Prabhupāda said that if they are willing to pay the rent, even if in the beginning it is only an extension counter, that's not so bad.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Like Indian Overseas, I gave them a rate of Rs. 4.50 per square foot, but the market rate was 4.

Prabhupāda: They are also ready to...

Room Conversation about Harijanas -- April 10, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: He will take from Delhi?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: The train? No, actually he can take from Bombay.

Prabhupāda: From Bombay to Kashmir direct.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Either direct or through Delhi. The Punjab Mail. I think there is a Punjab Mail.

Prabhupāda: Punjab Mail goes up to border of Kashmir.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: So something like that. I mean we could fix that up.

Prabhupāda: No, as many books you can carry without any difficulty, you can take.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: On the plane. Okay. Maybe Guru dāsa should wait there for awhile. If Guru dāsa and I go together as a preaching team, we can conquer anywhere.

Prabhupāda: Very good.

Morning Conversation -- April 11, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Subhaga.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Subhaga.

Prabhupāda: You can reach by mail.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Now with these books coming out, I think it is only a matter of time until we get many, many people joining us.

Prabhupāda: And respectable position. The more we publish books, we become respected.

Morning Conversation -- April 11, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: March?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes. It is quite a... It's about two weeks old. Somehow or other, Śrīla Prabhupāda, the mail is... This was sent to Hyderabad, this letter. So that accounts for it. "BBT Trustees' Meeting. 1) Yogeśvara dāsa was appointed the Los Angeles production manager for all international publications and will also act as assistant to the English production manager, Rādhā-vallabha." Yogeśvara dāsa was already in Los Angeles, and the various different foreign BBT's were com-plaining that they weren't getting the proper help from L.A. BBT.

Prabhupāda: He?

Meeting with Mr. Dwivedi -- April 23, 1977, Bombay:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: How many hours from Bombay by train?

Mr. Dwivedi: Twenty-four hours. We start here... No, it's twenty-two hours.

Prabhupāda: There are so many trains, Bombay to Jhan...

Mr. Dwivedi: No, the fastest train is Punjab Mail, train to Jhansi. Punjab Mail. It starts quarter past four and reaches Gwalior about, oh, just 1:30 or so.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Afternoon.

Mr. Dwivedi: Afternoon, the next day.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Then we could... It reaches Gwalior.

Mr. Dwivedi: Yes.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Then we could get down at your house...

Mr. Dwivedi: Yes.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: ...and wait till it cools down. Better to travel, say, about four o'clock. By then the sun is going down. It's cooler.

Second Meeting with Mr. Dwivedi -- April 24, 1977, Bombay:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Don't, you know...

Mr. Dwivedi: No, I understand.

Prabhupāda: And you, you get seat in Punjab Mail.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Yeah, tomorrow morning we're going.

Prabhupāda: Punjab Mail is best. Punjab Mail.

Indian man (1): Most suitable train.

Prabhupāda: Eh?

Mr. Dwivedi: Most suitable train is Punjab Mail. You leave here about four o'clock, quarter past four, and you are at Gwalior round about two o'clock.

Prabhupāda: That's nice.

Second Meeting with Mr. Dwivedi -- April 24, 1977, Bombay:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: No, no, no...

Mr. Dwivedi: That is inconvenient.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Punjab must be the best.

Mr. Dwivedi: This is only the best train. Punjab Mail is the best train.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: I already told someone to book everything. I've given them all information. Tomorrow morning I'm giving them the money for purchasing the tickets.

Kārttikeya: Mr. Jetthi's coming here in Bombay lst of May or 2nd of May to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Prabhupāda: Who?

Morning Talk -- April 25, 1977, Bombay:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: No, no, no, no. We're going to get two full compartments, four and four. No, we're not... Because I want both compartments full, because we have so much expensive luggage and machines, we could not let anybody else into our compartments, and they must be locked at every... That's understood. Rāmeśvara called you the other night, and we gave him the answers to our call. He said that Gurukṛpā Mahārāja was requesting that I write him a letter saying that they actually require the second $100,000 for construction.

Prabhupāda: No mail?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: There's no mail today because yesterday was Sunday. (long pause) (end)

Evening Darsana -- May 15, 1977, Hrishikesh:

Prabhupāda: Artificial. Cyavanti te. There is one verse. They'll fall down. What is the purport?

Pradyumna: "The group of transcendentalists who follow the path of the inconceivable, unmanifested, impersonal feature of the Supreme Lord engaged in devotional service of the Lord are called (sic:) bhakta-yogīs. Now, here the difference between jñāna-yoga and bhakti-yoga is definitely expressed. The process of jñāna-yoga, although ultimately bringing one to the same goal, is very troublesome, whereas the path of bhakti-yoga, the process of being in direct service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is easier and is natural for the embodied soul. The individual soul is embodied since time immemorial. It is very difficult for him to simply theoretically understand that he is not the body. Therefore the bhakti-yogī accepts the Deity of Kṛṣṇa as worshipable because there is some bodily conception fixed in the mind which can thus be applied. Of course, worship of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His form within the temple is not idol worship. There is evidence in the Vedic literature that worship may be saguṇa or nirguṇa, of the Supreme possessing or not possessing attributes. Worship of the Deity in the temple is saguṇa worship, for the Lord is represented by material qualities. But the form of the Lord, though represented by material qualities such as stone, wood, or oil paint, is not actually material. That is the absolute nature of the Supreme Lord. A crude example may be given here. We may find some mail boxes on the street, and if we post our letters in those boxes, they will naturally will go to their destination without difficulty.

Conversation -- July 1, 1977, Vrndavana:

Mr. Myer: We actually have a two-way program. One is to get in more money, and the other is to save what's going out. Because the parade(?) all through the mission are not even thousand in a month in some months. It's only 845 rupees in a month. On the average it's only 1,600. And prasāda, about 2,600. Main money was coming in saṅkīrtana parties. They keep going out and they mail in a lot of money. Some money is coming from donations. But the generation here is very limited. I think that's what we really need to attract. How would you like, get that initiated boy to start work for you?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: I don't know what Prabhupāda... I mean... So Mr. Myer should begin.

Prabhupāda: Hm.

Room Conversations -- July 7, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: He's says he's trying to increase the book distribution by arranging a big door-to-door program.

Prabhupāda: That is my earnest desire. Fulfill it.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: That's all he has to say. That was all the mail that came.

Prabhupāda: You can send him some old newsletter with a note that "How your other Godbrothers are doing. Compete with them in this line."

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Okay.

Prabhupāda: Hm. Simply fighting, what gift? Fighting between brother and brother, that is going on perpetually, but do something for the father. By right I'll take.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Yeah. Satsvarūpa's... Rāmeśvara sent an article. One of Siddha's papers, they published an article which was against the devotees.

Room Conversation about Mayapura Attack Talk with Vrindavan De -- July 8, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Very good.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Śrī Hiraṇyagarbha and Śrī Sudarśana in jeweled thrones. This is making the top of the domes. On your Palace there's... The top domes have lotus petals coming under them. So over that will go the domes. This is very big. The devotees are making the whole thing themselves. This shows devotees. See, this is a form, and into this form they'll pour concrete and other things and make shapes like these lotus petals. It's all hand done. "The Hare Kṛṣṇa Movement." This is pictures of saṅkīrtana in Pittsburgh and Wheeling, West Virginia. "Iṣṭagoṣṭhi: Questions and answers discussed between His Holiness Kīrtanānanda Swami and members and guests of New Vrindaban." "Cow-Kathā." (laughter) Like kṛṣṇa-kathā, cow-kathā. "Seeking Refuge from the Kali-yuga." This is from your old Back to Godheads. I remember in the first printings in America this appeared-Nārada-Bhakti-Sūtra. This boy writes an article every week—"Deep in the Woods." He's the woodman there, wood cutter. He tells about different... He relates it to the śāstra. "Color photographs available of Rādhā-Vṛndāvana-candra." They send it in the mail, "Non-profit organization, US Postage Paid." So it goes in the mail just like this. Very nice. I think it's time for your massage, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Prabhupāda: I'll take.

Room Conversation -- July 19, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Anyway, it is all ci... It is a Communist manipulation.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: They're still in jail.

Prabhupāda: Some books you have brought for selling?

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: No, these are just advance copies. They'll be coming by regular mail.

Prabhupāda: Some books are ready or not?

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes. I just brought these with me.

Prabhupāda: Hindi books are selling now.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes. They have a big stock of 1.1, all the other Hindi books.

Prabhupāda: So I am very much pleased that we have got some nice Hindi books.

Room Conversation -- July 19, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: (laughs) Give him a little heartache.

Prabhupāda: Just photograph a copy.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: All right. When Yaśomatīnandana goes to Delhi he can make a photocopy. Send it to the man by mail. "Thought we'd let you know, CIAs are back in Māyāpur." (break)

Prabhupāda: ...because there is psychological difference.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: See, one thing is that... Of course, when one has no energy, when one has no strength, then it's hard to be active. But then the other thing is true, that when one is active, he gets appetite automatically.

Prabhupāda: Therefore those who are physically active, they can eat more.

Room Conversation -- July 27-28, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Very nice. Yes, it serves the purpose.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: It advertises all your books. Plus, Śrīla Prabhupāda, I had signed a contract with the biggest mail-order house in India, called Mail Order Sales. And this week their full-page advertisement on the Bhagavad-gītā is reaching 25,000 households. Their ad wasn't ready, but they are sending it to me in few days. It's a very beautiful ad. They have a monthly newspaper called Mail Order News, and that they've given a whole page. But they pay for it. We give them a straight commission on sales. Just like in America you have Book of the Month Club and selling books by mail. This is very big. Plus we are now doing the Bhaktivedanta Encyclopedia of Vedic Knowledge. We are preparing a brochure just like this. This is a Brittanica Encyclopedia advertisement. So we're going to have your nineteen or twenty Bhāgavatams here. The artists are working on it and this is going to be sent to about thirty thousand households. These are just for households, not libraries or anyone, just as selling to businessmen and executives.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Who's going to do this?

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Mail Order Sales. It's a company that specializes in mail orders. This will be very good.

Prabhupāda: Everything you do, it is... Now, utilize. So one book has come only.

Room Conversations Bangladesh Preaching/Prabhavisnu Articles by Hamsaduta -- August 11, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: He says, "Bali-mardana was there years ago, and he seemed to be doing well. It is just that with all these countries, visa is a great problem. They demand always so much foreign exchange. Please let me know what I should do. I have also six other men who have to leave. If I go to the Far East, I could not take them all, just one or two. If possible, telegram as mail is slow. I have three weeks as of today. By 30th August I have to go. Please reply this letter immediately." So we'll tell him to go to the... "Yes, I need my own field, perhaps due to my obstinacy, as Your Divine Grace pointed out. I cannot seem to blend in someone else's field. I am really engaged here and very happy by your grace. You will be pleased to know that we have made another devotee. Shree Lanka is definitely a first-class field for preaching..."

Prabhupāda: So maintain the branch by local devotee.

Room Conversations Bangladesh Preaching/Prabhavisnu Articles by Hamsaduta -- August 11, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: He believes.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Would you like the fan on, Śrīla Prabhupāda?

Gurukṛpā: You mentioned in one of your books that everyone in this material world is considered mad, and a madman speaks all sorts of things. Whatever they speak is to be considered nonsense, because they're all mad.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Some nice mail today, Śrīla Prabhupāda. (break) (end)

Room Conversation -- October 2, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: You are happy to be in Vṛndāvana, I think. You look very natural, being in Vṛndāvana, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Prabhupāda: That's all. (break)

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Prabhupāda said scratch hard. (break) The other train? Punjab Mail? Frontier Mail? Oh, Rajdhani. Rajdhani Express?

Prabhupāda: That is from Calcutta?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: There's two. One comes from Calcutta, between Calcutta and Delhi, and the other goes Bombay-Delhi and Delhi-Bombay. Both of them take about seventeen or eighteen hours. The one going from Calcutta stops only once, Śrīla Prabhupāda, in Kanpur, I think. Between Calcutta and Delhi it makes one stop at Kanpur. That's all. It's all air-conditioned.

Room Conversation -- October 6, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: No, three lakhs we have got.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Okay. Because this will be a professional go-down then. Also New Zealand is ordering books from India, and the second print of the Bhagavad-gītā, which is going to leave on the 10th of October, that has come out even better than the American, the color work. I'm going to show it to Hari-śauri and you. Actually we should print some Bhāgavatams also, because many Bhāgavatams are out of print, and I have been using this mail order company. We are advertising our Gītā, and we've already sold more than thousand Gītās in two months. And this mail order company is paying for the advertisement. So they are very keen to also promote the Bhaktivedanta Encyclopedia. But before I do that, I must have all your Bhāgavatams in stock, because as the order comes, we have to fulfill them right away. This is working out to be very, very big, Śrīla Prabhupāda, this mail order technique. That is, we advertise, and the people write...

Prabhupāda: And print Hindi books, Gujarati books also.

Room Conversation -- October 6, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Whatever it may be, there is no need of keeping in the bank.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes. Because we can print more books and keep them in stock. And now we are finding out that this mail order technique is selling thousands of books. Like in two months I sold more books than Gargamuni's party did in one year with this mail order technique.

Prabhupāda: Hm. It is very good.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: And now we are doing this for the encyclopedia and for the Hindi books. Like our advertisement came in the third page of the Illustrated Weekly of India. It came in Hindustan Times of that Sunday. Plus, we are sending a mail order campaign directly to people's houses. And thousand Gītās in two months is very, very good, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Visit From Allopathic Doctor -- October 10, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Bengali Gītā with explanation.

Bhavānanda: Yes.

Prabhupāda: (Bengali) Śatadhanya says that Bengalis, they like my book.

Bhavānanda: Very much. We get huge amounts of mail. We get huge amounts of mail from all over Bengal every day asking about different literatures that have been printed in Bengali by Your Divine Grace.

Śrīdhara: Turn over? On your back or on your side, Śrīla Prabhupāda?

Upendra: Back.

Śrīdhara: On your back?

Upendra: Lift Prabhupāda up. You can push the pillow under his shoulders too. Is that all right? (break)

Room Conversation -- October 11, 1977, Vrndavana:

Brahmānanda: We are giving free transportation, lodging and food.

Dr. Kapoor: Free transportation from Delhi. Not from other places.

Brahmānanda: No, just Agra and Delhi. I think everyone is invited from these two places. These have been mailed in or our men have gone?

Mādhava: They have been mailed in.

Brahmānanda: These are mailed replies. These have been posted invitations.

Mādhava: They expect about 150 people altogether.

Dr. Kapoor: Anyway, it's going to be an interesting thing, the first of its kind in Vṛndāvana.

Brahmānanda: This is the first conference you've had?

Mādhava: Yes.

Brahmānanda: It's the first in the world.

Rūpānuga: First time.

Dr. Kapoor: First in the world. (laughs)

Brahmānanda: All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda. (break) Ātreya Ṛṣi and Parivrājakācārya Swami are here.

Hari-śauri: They brought you a big plate of fruits and things, from Tehran.

Prabhupāda: Hm.

Room Conversation -- October 12, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Bengal book.

Jayapatākā: In Bihar—they were doing the border of Bengal in Bihar—so they did both Hindi and Bengali. And in Darjeeling they did Bengali. Every day we're getting about twenty letters in the mail from people who want to be devotees or want to subscribe to the magazine. We get a big stack of mail. So there's a lot of interest from the books.

Prabhupāda: So utilize them properly.

Jayapatākā: Now there's eighty boys in the Gurukula, and they're all very bright-faced, chant very nicely. In the other temple that Lokanātha Swami had begun in Orissa, Bhadrak, there they also had a nice program during Janmāṣṭamī and Vyāsa-pūjā. I visited there. There it's in a small town, and it's about two hundred feet from the side of a small river. All the local people there are very favorable and very cooperative. So they help in all the functions.

Prabhupāda: Where is that place?

Room Conversation -- October 21, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: I can give you the details and the number, account number. You can make a specific inquiry. The main thing is just to inform them of the fact that there's a power of attorney coming with a notarized specimen signatures are coming, and there will be a letter of direction with those two signatures, directing them to send the certificates by registered mail here, because Prabhupāda can't sign the same signature. That's basically all you have to do. This bank has already accepted one copy. (indistinct) Either way... (indistinct) (break) Śrīla Prabhupāda? Gopāla Kṛṣṇa is here. He just returned from Bombay.

Prabhupāda: What news?

Room Conversation -- October 21, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: That's nice.

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Yeah, that's nice. Now, as soon as our six Gujarati books are ready, we are starting this mail order campaign even for Gujarati books and for Hindi books. Actually by this mail order technique we will sell more books than we sell on the streets or in colleges. Just in two months I sold more Gītās...

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: How many?

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa: Over a thousand ...than we did in two years of library party. And I'm expanding this to...

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: No. They sell more. They have more than that, standing orders.

Room Conversation -- October 28, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: And he has got the papers?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: He gave them back to me to keep in the almirah locked up. He said until he goes he wants me to keep them carefully. I said all right. And I'm getting him a ticket as well as sending the letters by special mail service to Bombay for Girirāja's signature, so that at least from our side there will not be any reason to delay. And when I showed him the letter that I had written to the bank, he was very satisfied. He could understand that there should be no difficulty now. He was quite confident after reading the letter. The letter is very clearly written, and with the power of attorney it's a complete document. I think everything was done all right. He seemed to be satisfied.

Prabhupāda: So what about kavirāja? He might think it is a whimsical. And that was my last desire. You could not.

Room Conversation -- October 28, 1977, Vrndavana:

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: The letter is already there. I've sent him a letter with... I sent the letter, so he knows that. The letter is there. But they have to receive five thousand rupees from you, and then they'll release the car.

Vrindavan De: Because if the confirmation of the amount received by mail reaches very late, the...

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: But you have not sent the money, Vrindavan. So why you're worried about the letter reaching late? First of all send the money, then worry about it. There's no worry. Once you send the money, the letter will come. I don't think that you can doubt that the letter will come. The main point is that the money has to come first. You have no reason to suppose that the letter will be delayed. It will come. They already know it. As soon as they receive five thousand rupees, the BBT, Bombay, will immediately inform Māyāpur, "Five thousand rupees been received. The car may be given." They know that. It's set up. It's a set-up. And you have to live up to your side to pay the five thousand rupees. It's not very much. It's not that much.

Prabhupāda: Now, with the help of Tamāla Kṛṣṇa and who else? Chandra. You can...

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Take this order, I think.

Room Conversation -- October 28, 1977, Vrndavana:

Vrindavan De: Yes. That can be... But I was feeling most uneasy in the air-conditioned chair car, because the outside climate was very cold, and inside was very cold the whole night.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: So Toofan would be better? Kalka Mail is better.

Vrindavan De: Calcutta from Delhi.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: So?

Vrindavan De: Then where should I stay in the night? It leaves at eight o'clock in the morning to Calcutta.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Stay at our temple.

Vrindavan De: Toofan is better I think.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: If available.

Vrindavan De: As this Mail from here, Mathurā.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: So where to get the...? I don't want to get the tickets from Mathurā. I want to get the tickets from Delhi. That is my point. I will arrange to purchase a ticket from Delhi.

Vrindavan De: But where can I stay in the night?

Prabhupāda: Or you can go by plane. We shall pay.

Room Conversation -- October 30, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Very good.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Hm. That's a nice program. Anybody can afford it. What is a yearly subscription to the Bhāgavata Darśana?

Bhavānanda: Only one problem with Bhāgavata subscription is theft in the mail. It's very difficult to get it, for it to reach its destination.

Prabhupāda: No, they make contact. For twelve rupees they'll get twelve copies.

Bhavānanda: When they contact.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Bhavānanda: That's good idea.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: You mean they have to come and collect.

Bhavānanda: Yes. They come to the temple few times a year, once a year. They'll get their copies and go.

Room Conversation -- October 30, 1977, Vrndavana:

Prabhupāda: Where is podda? (?)

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Your sister. I'm just calling right now. (break) (long pause-Śrīla Prabhupāda is sleeping) ...of the different businesses of Vrindavan? Well, first of all he was getting money for traveling expenses. So I have written a letter to Mr. Bekkar, the manager of the Central Bank of India at Camac Street, informing him that henceforward the interest from the fixed deposits in the name of BBT should be stopped from giving it to Vrinda Book Company, and instead the money should be transferred by mail transfer to the Central Bank of India, Gwalior Tank Road, to BBT account. I gave all the details. That's one letter. Then furthermore, I also addressed a letter to the Punjab National Bank, Brabourn Road, informing them that the Rs. 500 should be stopped from being given to Shrimati Radharani De, because... I didn't mention this, but the reason is that she'll be getting one thousand rupees from Indian Overseas Bank. And I'm sending that letter...

Prabhupāda: Oh... Has Indian Overseas arranged?
