- Before reaching there (the residential planet of God), the mystic passes over the Milky Way to reach Brahmaloka, and while going there he first reaches Vaisvanara-loka, where the demigod controls fire
- Before the Deity, before the fire, before the spiritual master and before the Vaisnavas, the honest disciple promises to refrain from all sinful activity. Therefore he must not again commit sinful acts and thus create a troublesome situation

- Fire is conserved in wooden sticks, and when circumstances are favorable, the fire is ignited. But the wooden sticks which are the cause of the fire are also consumed by the fire if it is properly dealt with
- Fire is considered to be pure. Therefore any ceremony is done before fire-god. So, Krsna says that even fire is so pure, still there are some defect, there is smoke. So, if you want to find out defect, you'll find out in fire also

- He (Prahlada) was thrown in a fire, in boiling oil, from the top of a hill, underneath the legs of an elephant, and he was administered poison
- He (Sudama) saw that in place of his cottage there were big palaces made of valuable stones and jewels, glittering like the sun, moon and rays of fire
- He (the living entity) can neither be burnt by fire, cut by sharp weapons, moistened by water, nor dried by the air. He is completely different from the physical elements, but by a superior arrangement he is put into these material elements
- He (the Lord) has innumerable energies, and therefore He can do anything and everything as He desires, and these things take place immediately, with all perfection. His energies are like the heat and light that expand from a fire
- He (Vidura) also gave indications of fire and said that fire cannot extinguish the soul but can annihilate the material body. But one who protects the soul can live
- He (Yudhisthira) posted Vajra, the son of Aniruddha (grandson of Lord Krsna), at Mathura as the King of Surasena. Afterwards Maharaja Yudhisthira performed a Prajapatya sacrifice and placed in himself the fire for quitting household life
- He has already accepted himself as my subordinate by marrying my daughter in the presence of fire and brahmanas. He has married my daughter, who is equal to Gayatri, and has pretended to be just like an honest person
- He is actually learned who has attained to perfection of knowledge. Development of this knowledge of the eternal servitorship of the Lord is compared to fire. Such a fire, once kindled, can burn up all kinds of reactions to work. BG 1972 purports
- He is placed in the midst of burning pieces of wood, and his limbs are set on fire. In some cases he is made to eat his own flesh or have it eaten by others

- He should properly place the fire element in his own self and in this way give up bodily affinity, by which one thinks the body to be one's self or one's own. One should gradually merge the material body into the five elements
- He was situated in transcendental bliss & he continued always in that blissful existence, which expanded more & more. This was possible for him by continual practice of bhakti-yoga, which is compared to fire because it burns away all material things

- Human civilization, is falling in the fire of illusory maya, fut! fut! fut! fut! fut! and again and again. Bhutva bhutva praliyate (BG 8.19). Once takes birth, one again dies, again suffers. But we have no brain, mudha. Therefore is called mudha

- I (Lord Brahma), Lord Siva and all the demigods, accompanied by the prajapatis like Daksa, are nothing but sparks illuminated by You, who are the original fire
- I am the original fragrance of the earth, and I am the heat in fire. I am the life of all that lives, and I am the penances of all ascetics

- In each universe there are millions and trillions of planets, each one different from the other. Vibhuti-bhinnam. Bhinnam means separate. As here earth is prominent, somewhere the fire is prominent, somewhere the air is prominent

- In the Visnu Purana it is stated that as the presence of fire is understood by heat and light, so the Supreme Personality of Godhead, although one without a second, is perceived everywhere by the diffusion of His different energies
- In the water there are so many lives. In the air there are so many lives. And why not in the fire? What is the reason? You have got some concocted ideas that in fire, nobody can live there. But Bhagavad-gita says - No, you can live there
- In this century, for instance, we have attempted to put out the fire of war, but it has not been possible. There was a First World War, and then a League of Nations was formed to try to prevent a second, but despite their attempts a second took place
- In this Kali-yuga, people are becoming so sinful that there is no possibility of rescue unless one takes to Krsna consciousness. The entire human civilization is falling into the illusory fire of maya. People fly into the fire just like moths
- In this material existence of life, we do not want any problem, but problems are created. Just like automatically there is fire in the forest without our endeavor, similarly, material problems are created automatically by our dealings, by our behavior
- In this straw, there is fire. Now, you ignite it, and just fan it, and the fire will come

- It becomes very difficult for snakes to leave a forest when there is a fire. Other animals may flee due to their long legs, but serpents, only being able to crawl, are generally burnt in the fire

- Jnanagni-dagdha-karmanam: the fire of knowledge burns up all reactions of sinful activities. It is the most potent of purifiers

- Just as fire appears from arani wood, the Supreme Lord appears when there is friction between devotees and nondevotees
- Just as fire distributes energy in the form of heat and light, the Lord displays His energy in different ways. He thus remains the ultimate controller, sustainer and dictator of everything
- Just as fire sterilizes all unclean things, the sun-god also keeps everything sterilized, especially dirty things within the mind, thus enabling one to attain elevation to the platform of spiritual understanding
- Just as heat and light emanate from fire, these two energies - the physical elements and the living entities - emanate from the Supreme Lord. Therefore the Lord says, aham vai sarva-bhutani: "I expand the physical and spiritual categories"
- Just as one can understand the supply of fire in wood, the water in a waterpot, or the sky within a pot, one can understand whether a living entity is a demon or a demigod by understanding that living entity's devotional performances
- Just as sound is generally present in all other elements (air, fire, water and earth) because it is produced from the sky. Similarly, the two characteristics of santa-rasa are present in other transcendental relationships

- The man had been untimely awakened and was therefore very angry, and when he looked upon Kalayavana in his angry mood, rays of fire emanated from his eyes, and Kalayavana burned to ashes within a moment

- This practice had to be stopped, but even today there are still some solitary cases where a wife will voluntarily enter the fire and die with her husband. Even after 1940 we personally knew of a chaste wife who died in this way
- This repetition of birth, death, old age and disease, this is just like a fire in the forest. Nobody wants it but it is forced up on us. Just like nobody wants to set fire in the forest, but it takes place naturally

- You may mix and transform these material things. You may take earth from the land and water from the sea, mix them and put them in a fire to make bricks, and then you may pile up all these bricks to make a skyscraper and claim that the skyscraper is yours
- You may put a pot of milk & rice within fire, & the milk & rice are automatically heated one after the other. Similarly, due to bodily pains & pleasures, the senses, mind & soul are affected. The soul cannot be completely detached from this conditioning
- You take little water. You dry it in the air. Then you burn it in the fire, and it becomes a doll. You see? That means you take all the help of all these ingredients, and it appears
- You will see Me in all living entities as well as all over the universe, just as fire is situated in wood. Only in that state of transcendental vision will you be able to be free from all kinds of illusion
- You'll simply hankering after, but there will be no satisfaction. Therefore Narottama says, visaya-visanale. Visaya means these material demands, eating, sleeping, mating, these are called visaya. They are just like poison, fire. So everyone is burning
